My first Hydro Setup 🌿

I’m none of those guys. But as far as PPMs during veg I shoot for 800-1000 flower I go for 1000-1250 tops.
When stuff is looking a little weird for me I dial back the nutes a little. I’m in DWC. Soo… Hempy sketch me out a little bit. I know what it feels like when something gets a little out of control. Sorry for that. Hope it gets better.
:pray:I pray the Hempy God smiles upon you!

Oh, it’s not completely lost or out of control, yet lol  :joy:

Thanks for the positive vibes @LilJonB :v::peace_symbol::v:

I run DWC and do 1.4EC

I imagine hempy u can do 1.8 to 2.0EC since roots arent in nutrients 24/7

If you have the option to do EC or PPM do EC. Meters just convert EC to PPM and PPM varies per meter brand.

Copy thank you.

I’m seriously on the verge of trying dwc.

Anywhere i should start my research?

I love the hempy, but if the growth is even better with dwc…uhuh.

Don’t really want to buy a pre-made kit, as they seem ridiculously expensive.

Although, this doesn’t seem to bad for cost.

To be honest its not bad. I use the same pump. It is sufficient. But I am looking for a better pump. Those net pot lids I bought for like $15 apiece. I dont know the quality of those. If for whatever reason you decide to build your own I have some 6" clear net pots you can have. Unless you already have most of your stuff I’d say get it. I dont know if that comes with air stones.
I’m sure you have more grow time in then I do and I just got done my 3rd run in DWC. Some things get out of hand thats out of my control like reservoir Temps getting to high in the summer. But other then that I’d say go for it.

6"netpot lids are like $4 per. 5gal lowes blue buckets are $3 each. $25 for that air pump. $10 air tubing. $1.5 for each air stone. $25 30L of expanded clay pebbles.

$94. You save some money from the kit. What i hate about those kits is that water gauge. Like lifting up the lid isnt hard and you dont have holes in your bucket that could leak.

Easy enough to to build and pretty cheap

be safe and grow well

Lol! I love em. My buckets get stuck underneath a net. It can be a little tricky. What I dont like is trusting other peoples work. I put my own in.

Actually the roots are in nutrient solution pretty much all the time . The bottom 2" of a Hempy acts like a reservoir .

it does passive hydro

If you put air stones in the passive is it still considered hempy? I just want to be sure in the future to make sure I’m not labeling something incorrectly.

it would be active

Hints the name huh? Thanks.

Yeah…thats is a problem for the unawakened.

I have a thread on RIU for a DIY scrog for bubble buckets using cpvc and nylon bolts and nuts. I use cotton string for the netting material and sheet metal screws drilled in to loop the string around. Harvest is easy. Just cut the strings and all the swole buds fall to the edges like an unwrapped bouquet of flowers

Thing is solid. Modular. And makes the lid and screen unitized.

I’ve read about peeps using air stones in hemyps . I think the consensus was if it aint broke don’t fix it . But what ever floats your boat .

You know what. Your absolutely right. Build the net into the lid. And the funny thing is I seen it to. It might have been one of yours. I didn’t think of applying it into my tent. Mostly because it’s only enough room for 2 photos. But I might be able to implement that idea into my grow. You got me thinking. LOOK OUT!

Here it is

Ive made some mods over the years

I used to drill the holes. But thats a pain weaving the string through though the look is much cleaner. I used a threading needle. Well still do because those screens are still in use today. From nearly 6 years ago.

The diagonals can be shortened or lengthened based on your plants heights. I have a set for a 16" screen and a set for a 24" screen.

The elbows pointing up on the top are to put 12" verticals or whatever size really and then putting a tee and an elbow. You could use an ST90 to avoid having a bridging pipe but i just used a 1" piece to fit the two socket ends of the fittings. This will give you a cross member all around the screen to hold up colas

Those buckets look strangely familiar::wink: I like the idea that they’re mobile.

Due to the fact that I have a veg and flower tent, need to be able to move easily. Hate the idea of timing up my flower tent like that (if that makes any sense)
