Trying to germinate OLD (like 50 year old) seeds? Try this method:
LENTIL SOAK GERMINATION METHOD
Take TWO/2 8oz Jars w/Tops. Fill the 1st Jar 1/4 with Pea/Bean Mixture (I steal Queen 's 15 Bean Soup). Add Distilled Water, fill half-way. Leave COVERED for 48 - 72 hours.
At the SAME time, Take an Aloe Vera Fan, slit along the edge, fold Fan exposing āGelā, With a Butter Knife, scrape the Gel into a pile. Cut up the green material into small pieces, save. Put Gel and green material in the other Jar, add Distilled Water to cover material. Leave COVERED for 48 - 72 hours. Shake BOTH Jars DAILY!!
After 48 -72 hours, strain the peas/beans, saving water, Do the same for the āAloe Waterā. Combine the contents of BOTH Jars. Add GA3, PPMāed to 35 - 50. If seeds are 30+ years old, PPM to 100.
You can now use the āLentil Soakā Liquid to soak your seeds. I use the Lil Deli Condiment Cups w/Lids. Or, you can do the āPaper Towel Methodā, substituting this Liquid for regular water.
I guarantee youāll pop seeds, if thereās a remote chance theyāre viable. I have a dear friend who had some seeds from his African Peace Corp Assignment in the 60ās pop.
Hope it helps, as it is a sad feeling to have prized seeds not geminate. If you do succeed, Iāll place a āVirtual Beggarās Cupā right outside your Front Door!! SS/BWā¦mister NOTE: Donāt worry, Iām O-L-D, forgot the Address alreadyā¦youāre good!!
Thatās a great write up man gonna save that to the notes on my phone Iāll have to try it out thank you
Didnāt mean to interrupt the announcement there
That is great Mister but what is G3?
Always up for a info break when great knowlege is shared.
Ga3 aka gibrillic acid or however ya spell it
it works wonders on old seeds but when used creates what I call the bean stalk effect
Very lanky seeds
Itās also been said it does weird stuff to the genes but thatās anecdotal as far as Iām aware and I donāt give a second thought to it as Iām using it
Information on using GA3 with old or stubborn seeds
That would be āGibberellic Acidā, easily purchased on the eā¦Bay or that āJungle Siteā, think Amazon. SS/BWā¦mister
OK I already use Ful-power. Now I need to buy an aloe plant
