My wife has recently lost 60 lbs in 3 months. She cant eat, and had been barely able to work 2 days a week. Im disabled and dont work, i dont bring in an income.
She saw her primary yesterday and was told her liver is failing, we dont know how bad yet. She is going to a couple different specialist in the coming time. This is so new, and fresh it burns like a fresh wound. We already barely scrape by for bills, now she cant work at all. I am hoping for the best outcome. But we are really stressing on how we are going to keep living. I am so utterly scared for her, im scared for my 6 year old daughter. I dont want her to lose her mother this young like I myself did.
I dont know how much or if i will be trading anything anymore. I dont have time with caregiving for my mother in law, and now this horrible mess.
Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully she’s able to get on dialysis asap and get a transplant. Sucks with our healthcare system these days too. Truly sorry to hear this. I hope things work out the best way they possibly can for you and the family.
Oh man. Big hugs. Maybe you already know, look up in our shared home state paid medical leave. She should be able to take use that for some income replacement. PM if you need help finding it. Life is really hard sometimes. Sharing is a good thing, I hope knowing folks care helps. 🩵
No she feels like she is dying. In a ton of abdominal pain all around pain. Its sad to see but she is doing really bad. I hope we find her some help some time soon. Shes not healthy.
Ok fair enough man. There’s 15 of em in the country and its kind of cutting edge technology but you got me there. I’d bet 95% of the medical field hasn’t heard of it.
I don’t want to dox myself by discussing my profession so I’ll just let this go.
Liver dialysis is a kind of detoxification process that removes toxins stuck in albumin. Whereas, kidney dialysis is performed in the case of kidney failure and primarily removes water-soluble toxins. Like a bioartificial liver device, liver dialysis is also a form of the artificial extracorporeal liver support device.
Damn, @Pawsfodocaws , I’m so sorry to hear that you guys are going through this rignt now. You all are good people and i hope tnings can get sorted quickly
That is so terrible to hear, @Pawsfodocaws. In situations like this, for me perhaps the worst part is there is nothing really practical that I can do to help. I hope her recovery somehow begins in the very near future.
Hard times, sorry to read you’re all going through that. Lots of things to worry, but nothing is settled yet. Take care of her and the kido. Hot water bottles can help for such pains maybe? You’ll know more after more analysis. Wish your fam’ the best.
