My/your Tobacco grow

Gotta a little patch of jasmine scented tobacco i walk past every night. I tried to take a picture of what it smells like but nothing does it justice.

Are the Hopi’s like Nicotiana Rustica variety?? I just started looking into tobacco when my friend brought up if anyone was growing it out here in HI. We both realized we never heard of it so I started looking up Tobacco seeds and found victory seed company and they had An Aztec/Sacred and it was the Nicotiana Rustica

Nicotiana rustica ‘mapacho’ has a more complex alkaloid profile than the more common tobacum and 2-3 times the nicotine.

Thank you for the information, I appreciate it.

Interesting thread. Love flowering tobacco plants. In my neighborhood there are growing some tobacco plants with white flowers. Don’t know what variety it is. Had the plan to grow tobacco this year, but weather was to wet and cold for a long time.

My grandfather (father’s side) grew tobacco during WWII, probably variety Nicotiana tabacum No. 25. My father was smoking as kid German cigarettes he got from the soldiers.

Personally i like smoking kreteks from Indonesia. Unfortunately the real kreteks are forbidden nowadays in the EU, but kreteks cigarillos are still sold, but found them much heavier to smoke. My favourite brand is Gudang Garam btw.

Yeah it’s a rustica. It’s just an unworked tobacco plant.
Tobacum varieties are still usually rustica, they’re just worked so they changed to ‘Tobacum’ to denote that.

I’ve ran Maria Sabina Family from Bodhi and the Maria Sabina x Hopi Trippy Citrus from Strayfox. Think I also ran an Aztec one but it was basically the Maria Sabina  Neither were more potent than common smoking tobacco varieties. They put out a good amount of suckers. Smoke is okay. Maybe 3-4 ft tall at best. I made a bunch of seeds with the MSF but don’t have any want to grow them again any time soon. Even for offerings and stuff I’d rather grow the cherry red 401 or these harrow velvets or something. Just better plants all around.

Oh okay very nice are the MSF still available? Where did you get the cherry red 401 or harrow velvets? I saw them on Victory seeds but I’m not sure if that’s the best source

I’ve been getting the majority of my tobacco from ONeillSeeds on Etsy

Grown at least 3 different varieties from him and they’re all legit. A single packet of seeds will be a couple years worth unless you’re planting a field. If things go well I should have harrow velvet seeds here in a month or two.

Thank you so much I just bookmarked them! Can I message about the MSF?

Have you ever smoked American spirit turquoise?
I’d like to find something similar.

it’s the best place to ask aboiut a trade, kinda what we do here. that and give them away. of course some sell them also but the spirit of og is giving them away and trading. my hemp season went bust this year along with the tobacco or i would have all kinds of seeds to trade and give away. here’s hoping next year is better.

Thank you for the advice man and I hope the next season goes better! I’ve been having issues with growing this year too and having space for it, some friends have been nice enough to lend some tent space and one of my buddies and I had a good time reproing some of the white rhino I got from @AzSeaindooin420 when I first joined up and that’s what I got to trade.
