As it turns out, Israel is actually using a trebuchet on the Lebanese border! It’s not a “sanctioned” weapon, whatever that means, but apparently a unit of the IDF built one and has been firing fire balls across the border. It’s really fucking cool to see one actually being fired off! They also appear to be using bows and fire arrows, although I only observed that in the background and there was no discussion about bows and arrows. I saw it on a news program. I’m sure the video is available on the web somewhere.
