She’s not getting any better, cuts died. I’m not sure where I went wrong with this one. Can plants catch covid? because I’ve fixed everything Temps in the grow room range from 70 @ night to 80 in the daytime. Lights 24/7(not sure if this increases stress) other than that week of full strength ff trio where she burned(that’s what I’m trying to bring her back from, did a flush and res change) ppms have been under 800(sitting at 780 now) ph has been stable 5.8-6.2. If my hair were longer I’d be pulling it out over this. If she dies I may switch back to tent grows because that’s the only real difference between this and my last grow.!
Nutes: 2.4g/gal masterblend 4-18-38
1.2g/gal epsom salt
2.4g/gal calcium nitrate
What’s the water temperature?
Recommend re-flush, clean bucket, no-nutes, reduce light’s to 20/4, continue to monitor pH and keep your water around 70F, leave it be and wait for recovery.
How far are the lights away from your ladies? The reason I ask is I’ve had similar issues with soil grown girls and the seemed to heal up better and faster with a little less light for a while.
Damn harsh. Seems you got all the correct boxes checked off. Roots seem a bit ropey, maybe not as fluffy as I’ve seen, but nothing to show what she is showing now, to me anyway.
Raised the light to about 40 in for now. Filling another clean bucket but it takes awhile with the ro filter. Not sure if I want to reflush but if I see no improvement over the next few days or if things seem to be getting worse I’ll give it a shot.
Doesn’t look like full blown root rot but they don’t look happy, either. Are you using a sterilizing agent in your water? What are your water temps?
Your nutrient mix has some interesting values. That’s a lot of K and Mg…Mg especially…relative to N…is that what you’ve used successfully prior? Personally I’d start by reducing the epsom and increasing the calnit, were it me.
I’m a bit of a newb. This is only my second grow. Nutes were recommended by a friend and looking around on boards that seemed to be the typical ratio. Water temp was 84, keep ph between 5.8 and 6.2 (5.7 right now and I’ve brought water temp down to 75)
I’m less concerned about the ratios than I am about the excessive Mg. Excessive Mg and K can block Ca absorption, which may be a problem since you are using R/O water and relatively low ppms. Cut the epsom to half and see if there is any improvement.
Start adding 0.25mL of plain liquid bleach per gallon. You’ll start to notice new white hairs developing within a few days as the rot dies. Do the roots feel a bit slimy and smell not so great? Sterile reservoir is the way, friend.
Water temps 84? Way, way too high. 75 is too high. That’s probably your main issue right there, and leads to rot and poor oxygenation. Shoot for under 70, 65 is better.
