Not recovering

If I can bring her back she’ll be a monster by the time my autos are ready.

Res temp 62.6f ph has creeped up to 6.05, roots show improvement, not much improvement on leaves.

That’s not trash on the floor either lol. I just use junk mail to block light from getting in through my airhose hole.

I noticed your buckets let in a small bit of light they are blue and translucent. Do you get any green gunk growing in there? If I shine a flashlight on the outside of my bucket, I can’t see it on the inside at all.

No green gunk or algae. They do a pretty good job of blocking the light. Wish they were a bit thicker for temp regulation but at $3 a piece they’re pretty great.

One thing I can say for sure is that she’s feeding. Ppm went from 679 to 360. Strange that water levels didn’t go down much. Changed res again, same sterile nute solution.

I should’ve asked this days ago, but should I trim off any dead/dying leaf tissue?

Depends on the severity of damage. If the plant is visibly recovering but more damaged leaves aren’t, trim those off. You’ll start seeing new little white tipped root hairs growing soon, might even notice a few today if you look close.

Forgot to turn on the space heater when the lights went out this morning. Was cold af 55° when I went in there right after they came on. Waters also 55. A bit cold but it’ll get up to 68 in a few hours under that 1000w light (got the heater going now, it’s supposed to be cold tonight) gotta dig out that third timer so I can have it cut on at lights out. Leaves seem a bit perkier and I’m seeing signs of new growth.

If you have another bucket you can try slipping your bucket into the other bucket to create a thin insulating air layer between the outside and inside bucket. Should help to slow down the heating of the solution during the day and also slow down the cooling of the solution at night.

55 isn’t that bad. They slow down growth a lot but it isn’t really detrimental to the plant. She’ll perk up soon.

That’s a really solid idea, @BudSy that probably would help a lot.

Great idea and such an obvious solution too. Now to convince myself that I would’ve figured it out eventually. Got 15 buckets, 12 seeds germing(they’re on a seed starter heat pad rn) so I guess it’s back to lowes for 15 more buckets after payday. Gotta spend money to make money I guess :expressionless:

Well fuck, my powers out. Hopefully they get it turned back on here soon, but the south doesn’t handle freezing rain/snow very well.

Anywhere the power lines are above ground don’t do well in freezing rain, even here where we get a lot of freezing rain, they seem to have no answer for it except keep repairing the lines. Hope you get it back soon.

powers out, welcome to my world. After 24 hours I go and stir the buckets with a stick. The plants themselves seemed to be ok for the most part after a 36 hour outage.
