Here we go

Filling the Octopots
I use pro mix bx and a bit extra perlite

I use a 5 gallon bucket with the bottom cut out
I only fill the bag to 12 inches tall
The bucket supports the bag so you can pack it accordingly
Remember pack it lightly not too firm not too loose

The smaller ones ( octo- pups from amazon) only take a 3 gallon bag
Now some if us use smaller bags I prefer these gardeners preference

I’ll most likely transfer Mac 1 in first and let the 2 cuts get ahead of the faster growers about a week should do it

And hopefully by that time wedding cake and ice cream cake will have roots

Those two where lazy rooters lol

I’ll use @Jetdro ’s turbo method pour only in the hole :hole: not around it
I do add micro fungus for root development
And rhizotonic down the hole as well

Only fill the reservoir less then the first marker

And with the little ones about 1/2 gallon till roots hit the res

I transferred the Mac 1 in to the large and small Octopots she ‘s a slow grower I’ll give her a head start

Just waiting on wedding cake and ice cream cake to root

Tahoe is a little finicky I took the dome off and when i checked Bach she was limp
So I put the dome on her and she stood right up
I should learn every time I clone her she does this

Hey Paps, I was in the neighborhood, thought I’d hunt for some 9’s or 19’s, to slap a bump on!
While hunting those, the pics of the plants and buds are gorgeous!!
Love that dedicated scrog area also!!
Anyway so glad to everyone is still upright and sucking air, and growing hard!!
All the best paps!!

Hi all it weed report time
Wedding cake
Ok first the plant was a mom kept small to pollinate with the chuckys bride pollen
So I was removing the seeds and said let’s wake and bake for my walk with my best girl

So I filled a bowl and started our adventure
Well this is truly a must have in your garden so far my new favorite iits now #1 on the hit parade I give her a 10

This run she dedicated to a large Octopot and I want to see her get big

On the first hit you know it’s top shelf
Very happy I got this one
@Jetdro your :100: % right she’s all that and a bag of chips ( move reference)

Ok all you octopoters lol :joy: octo - herd ,

I’ve noticed I’m getting sloppy in my octo -habits .
I’m noticing a big difference in root mass. the
Roots are filling the bag but not the reservoir ( so packed I can’t break them up )
I’m still getting 7 foot plants but something is a miss
Ok what I find I’ve been doing out of laziness is filling the Octopots , big and small past the 1 st level line on transplanting
And the octo- pups basically all the way !
This makes the Soil zones way too wet and roots are healthy and happy in the pro-mix
So here’s my solution
Only use @Jetdro turbo method it really helps
To lessen the amount of wetness in the soil
It also gives the roots a path to follow

Big Octopot only put 1 gallon in the reservoir as compared to the first marker which is 2 gallons so 1/2 way to the 1 st marker

Small one only enough to see the water level indicator move just a bit

I’ll do this for like 20 days to see what happens

I guess as you get older you get a bit lazy

Sad news today 1 cj x cb died due to damn off
Taps blown :trumpet:

129 days and still no tomato’s on my plants ? lol :joy:

Interesting info. Are you growing your maters in octos too? I admittedly can be lazy too and have had some issues lately…hmmm. Need to check things closer when I am home later.

No moms are in 5x5 x 7 inch plastic pots

I keep them small and clone them once they all get to big to manage in a smalll tent

So like every 2 or 3 months

If I run the clone in my Octopots I’ll cull the mom until I’m ready to flower
So iv have a lot of practice on cloning lol :joy:

I only try to run 8 plants but I have like 10 moms
I’m always cloning something lol

I don’t even worry about roots in the rez. I’ve been using Octo’s for over 3 yrs and for some reason, never get the wild root growth in the rez. Don’t know if it’s my water hardness, something I’m doing, but I don’t stress over it. Plants still get almost too big. And I have a piece of pvc that I use to beat the sleeves so I can pull the root mass out!!
