i miss the old OG i smoked in 2004 where the entire nug was like 7 to 10 giant calyxes and some very frosty leaves covering the nug, signature kush appearance is always that frosty leaf covering the nug, and those calyxes were the size of pomegranate seeds they were stupid huge, imagine how they must have looked before the drying!!! now calyx are the size of ground black pepper haha. everytime you smoke kush or og kush back then, it always appears to smoke “smooth” as you inhale it, about 3 seconds in your lungs begin to contract and you realize this is some of the most painful chokes you ever felt from weed, and even after you release the smoke you continue coughing for like 10 minutes. spitting all over the place lol. damn i miss that trippy psyche high everything was hyper real and everything complex, to fine details became obvious things. good ol smoke. and who remembers “dude you’re only going like 10 mph right now” LOLOLOL and the guy driving would be panicking out of his mind thinking we’re going at a high rate of speed lmao. good times

Expando weed was always a sign of good flower. Haha. Hits your lungs super smooth and then just seems to keep expanding and chokes you out.

Gush Mintz and Larry Burger are expando out of the dozen or so strains I’ve smoked lately. Both I think have some og in them as the story goes. I like anything OG. I was wondering if the hells og cut isn’t as powerful as some of the others

Im almost 99 percent positive Marty grew sensi seeds hindu kush down there in Florida when dude was setting him up… Thats what the man himself said so im going with that. Sensi hindu is very landracey, nothing modern about it. Possibly stabilized with skunk 1? Im betting he diesnt remember, and it was an accidental pollination that made triangle kush.

Hell i cant recall full details from grows 3 years ago much less 1992 lol. Of course this all with the assumption that og came from tk bagseeds. Honestly nobody really knows what it is. Personally i think og has alot of sativa in it. The high is very heady for me atleast. Too bad we dont have genetic geneology for cannabis. Eitherway og kush is still my favorite strain! Never gets old

I don’t really have any faith in any of the stories at this point. TK’s whole description changed online after Marty/TKOrigins came out with that story.

Yes its all very confusing to me as well. Honestly it doesnt matter its just fun to speculate.

here is the ny med vireo dispensary og kush.i would be curious to know what cut it is. The high is very soothing, upbeat, relatively clear, warm blanket, happy and just great with medium to long lasting effects. Taste out of bong is refreshing slight lemon

Seems like very good og kush cut, not amazing or “elite” - but very very good. Compared to other strains out there this doesn’t blow my mind but is great everyday anytime smoke and has medicinal qualities for anxiety mood and aches and pains.

From what to what if you don’t mind me asking?

Went from tall lanky sativa to stout bushy indica :joy:

What’s the morphology of the cut that you hold, lanky or squat? I personally don’t have any idea, as I’ve only ever seen pics and grown x’s. Getting the real deal is on my to do list, as everyone seems to really rate it highly.

The cut I have is a tall lanky sativa type plant with a functional cerebral high which matches what the old descriptions used to say. along with what Nspecta, strayfox, cornbread Ricky, and others show and say.

All the description now are saying she’s a stout bushy indica with heavier indica type effects of which she is most definitely none of those things.

I’ve seen and grown a fake TK cut that is more stout and bushy with half the stretch and indica type effects, but she’s nowhere near as good in any area you wanna measure against.

Thank you for digging that upfor us.
That first picture is very different from the second picture

The first one from Strayfox looks like many of the Afghan and Chemdog pictures that have been posted over the years on all the forums. It also looks like Master Kush - yet another facet of the ‘Kush’ blanket terminology.
The second picture is reminiscent of Pakistan.
Well, both regions are in Hindu Kush. But those mountains create a chasm that I could see making genetics from one side of the mountain range distinct from those kept on the other side.

Wasn’t there a Pure OG Kush that looks like the green Afghan/Chemo provenance?
The TK cut looks more like The White than the old OG before the Florida crew decided to cash in on the narrative.

I personally think the TK, least the one I hold, and the Chem91 are related. Idk how or which way, but no way there’s not a common ancestor or something somewhere between them.

I haven’t had any legit OG Kush cuts to compare anything to. Had the Tahoe but tossed it in veg as it just wasn’t doing much for me. Hollywood PK hermed 2-3 weeks into flower, not nanners, balls.

My running thought on at least some of the lineage of all these chem/og things is, silver pearl. But can’t say anything definitively, just speculation.

Do you have any clue why Silver Pearl disappeared from the seed banks? My assumption was that it wasn’t worth to continue the line because other cultivars outshined it. But over the years I’ve heard so many flash backs to the original Silver Haze and that it was the best polyhybrid haze of all time, and that’s coming from real haze heads.

I’m pretty sure sensi seeds original Hindu Kush offering was not a true land race but was nevils Hindu that was not Hindu .
In regards to the stature of og being lanky vs short and squat I can say that the ghost og is tall lanky with tons of stretch , tastes of lemon candy floor cleaner to musky skunky lemon depending on how grown and when harvested.
The 92og clone not seed line is a shorter bushier type plants that has a completely different terpene profile and growth structure.
I have not grown a verified triangle but most of the pics I see look very similar to the ghost og but with slight differences.
I was told there was both a very long time ago and the 92 looks much more like it could be the bubba kush mother vs the ghost. Lots of questions around all of these cuts and stories , hard to remember things from the early nineties.

100% agree. Ive held at least 20 OGs(mostly just renames and varying levels of dudding), and they look very similar to TK. Much easier to grow/clone though. Those real OG cuts outgrew most plants. But as others have mentioned more cerebral effect. There was also a lot of Bubbas renamed to OG back in the day too. Any time folks thought they got a squat OG, it was a bubba lol.

For some reason back when tons were named “X person’s OG” which was super annoying when it just ended up being SFV/Ghost or Fire every time lol. But whatever that old Fire Cut OG we all grew tons of in central cali was the best by a longshot. You could really taste that chem influence, and had rare potency. This is of course not including the OG outcrosses. I had ones with everything from Lemon with the Larry to all sorts of sweet variations. Heres a big collection of various OG moms from back in my cooler era. Pushin 6 feet in 5 gallon pots. Even in veg they have a very distinct look.

Silver Pearl disappeared because it was great the first few generations but it couldn’t be bred to keep the characteristics that we like easily. I got a pack the first year they came out with it and went back a few years later and got some more seeds. Unfortunately it wasn’t the same thing anymore

Damn that sucked. I’ve looked at all the different Silver Pearl seeds that have started to be released this year, but none of them matches any of the old descriptions. As I understand it, the initial release of Silver Pearl didn’t have any fruity terps to it. But all I can see everywhere is the description that it’s fruity… Feels like since the fruity stuff in hype right now. They just take something else and say that it’s Silver Pearl.

So my question is, do you recall what that “special” seed stock you had came out as?

Would love to get as much info as possible around this plant.
