OG Veterans Giveaway Signup 2023. Thank You for your Service

Hey all, I may be back for other strains, cause I wanna be able to thank each who donated.

So, right now, do any of you know who made the Fraser Valley Blueberry HP x Dr Atomic Blueberry x NL? I wouldn’t mind knowing a little more about it, since I have 4 seeds about to go into the dirt. Just a few more hours in their soak, and they go into dirt. Thanks, peace, Gman.

The Fraser Valley Blueberry Northern Lights x Dr Atomic Blueberry Northern lights (BX1-f2) were from @SHSC-1 @gman.

Hey thanx @DougDawson I sent @Gman a DM with the details on that one. It will be released soon as Coastal Blueberry.
Anyone with questions or who wants to tag me if they start them just hit me up in a DM
All my friends here get these seeds off me for thier outdoor grows since I started working them. They perform very well indoors as well.
The original grower who made the seeds I started this with is called Rykus on icmag or Coastal on z-labs and is why I have named this rendition Coastal Blueberry. He has been laying low for over a year now due to the large scale grows he runs. I’ve been working this line now for just over 2 years? LOL might be 3 now and if my friends love it… I figured it was veteran worthy.

@SHSC-1 how do they do outdoors as far as PM resistance??? I have to literally grow in a swamp, and can only put out strains that are at least “somewhat” PM resistant.
Had 1 strain from a large breeder last year that I was told it was “Very” PM resistant, probably just to get the sale, and didn’t harvest it because PM was drawn to it like a rare earth magnet.

I actually got PM last season right near the end and had to deal with that before I could get all my indoor stuff going at full tilt. I used the sulphur spray method and killed the PM. The mothers of this seed lot didn;t seem to be affected and they were harvested healthy.
@JoeCrowe has excellent info on that sulphur spray method. It works and wipes out PM completely , used in veg only obviously
but some plants can lose some leaves to it. Anyhow these strains were originally grown and bred in the BC Lower mainland region and right at sea level where fall rains are a given. I can’t say for sure on resistance as I don’t see Pm here usually and it came in on a clone from out of province.
As a breeder it’s hard for me to make claims on resistance if I haven’t been able to use that threat in stress testing a line. I know that’s not a very good answer but it’s an honest one ?

I am still going to call it Fraser Valley Blueberry

I can shed some light on whether a strain can be mildew resistant or not. I would say NOT. Here’s the reason:
The plant generates elemental sulfur to try and deal with the mildew problem. I have never heard of a plant that can extract enough sulfur from the ground to eradicate the mildew. I’d love to be proven wrong, but I don’t really see how.

@SHSC-1 totally understand & appreciate your honesty. I e already got the sulphur waiting!!! Just have to wait until May to get out to the swamp with the fogger and spray the hell out it.
I have to fight it a bit every year back there. Tried all kinds of stuff until I joined OG and discovered the thread @JoeCrowe made about PM, now I’m armed to take the reins in my direction this year!!!
It was just incredible that 1 strain out of 12 sucked it up so bad, and probably would have been an awesome smoke. It was also the only strain that didn’t respond to anything. The other strains, I would only have to spray once a week, but spraying every day on that damn thing did nothing.

Well @JoeCrowe, due to reading like over 1200 posts in your write up, seeing first hand on your microscope vids, I think I’ll have a better handle on it this year. Already have the sulphur and waiting to spray the entire area a few times before I even put plants out this year. Then, will hit them during Veg as a precaution. I definitely will not be growing the PM magnet out there this year!!!

I think the parasites reign of terror is over. I’m glad! Too many people tossed their plants out thinking that shit was forever, instead of something you can wipe out with 15 cents worth of elemental sulfur.

@DougDawson , if it’s allowed I’ll put up two different sets of cuttings from any of my clones and cover shipping to the US. Canada is just too high for express mail, sorry. I can send you a list of what I have available.

To be honest @FirstCavApache64 , with the legality of shipping across the border, I would have to have said no for Canadians anyway. That said, you can absolutly offer up a couple set’s of clones. That’s awesome brother, thanks. I will go post that on the donation thread.

Thanks @4ftfarmer , I will post that on the giveaway thread as well. Much appreciated.
