@misterbee, I do believe that @Bobgrows is doing the distribution for the 2024 Veterans Box on the US side.
Good morning. I want to thank all the veterans of OverGrow for their commitment to standing up for what they believe in, sometimes at great personal risk. You are the true hero’s and I appreciate your service, no matter what country you served in. I’ll be donating packs to Mr Ds giveaway this Jan, so make sure to get signed up.
Thank you for the recognition @Budderton, those of us who are older Vets GREATLY appreciate it.
Also, THANK YOU for another year (2024) of killer strain donations to the Veterans giveaway!!!
Thank you to all who served across our great planet to make it a place we can live free. We appreciate you.
salute to the vets!
many thanks to the friends and family here!
Thank u all for your service and sacrifice. All gave some, some gave all 🫡
Just got in from my day trip deer hunt. Unsuccessful but lots of time left.
I usually spend Canada’s Remembrance Day in the woods on my own , solo hunting for deer.
Along with me is my great grandfather’s boot knife and tobacco pipe, a wwII issue compass and a pair of heavy wool stocks that were my grandfather’s, momentos of friends I have lost who were in service and I take the 1918 BSA lee enfield in .303brit. The same model rifle my grandfather went to war with. Many of my great uncles , my great grandfather and his brothers, and my grandfather, all served with the allied forces in wwI and wwII. So today is a day I spend in the woods , on my own , relfecting and the freedoms I have, the life made possible by the sacrifices of so many.
I didn’t get a deer today but it was a gorgeous sunny day with a spectacular sunrise and the one day a year I smoke from great grandpa’s pipe. I found several nice spots to pause and reflect and remember in my own way.
To all who served, thank you, you all have a special place in my heart. Canadian forces personel played a big role in my brother inlaw’s survival when he was caught in the peripheral of a grenade blast in Sarajevo as a young boy. And thanx to those same personel, my wife, her brother and her mom were able to leave the heart of the war zone for a safer life in Canada. They are here vistting this weekend so it was nice to come home from my day trip to find them all here. Today is a very special day to them and we always spend it together.
Helping veterans when I can is always something I am down for. I haven’t been following things very closely the last month so if there is a place to sign up as a donor for the 2024 giveaway can someone tag me to it please?
That’s an amazing way to spend the day brother. I love going out with my Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk 2. It also shoots a British .303. It’s a beautiful riffle that I got from my father. I will be in touch with you tomorrow bud.
@Bobgrows is doing it. I am her back up. I will be running mine over to her so either way they would get to her.
I got to learn how to make dry ice hash from her and her friends today.
Have people already signed up? If so, where? THANKS, and hope you are doing well. SS/BW…mister
Sounds like a good day!
@SHSC-1 @DougDawson One of my uncles gave me my late grandfather’s 1944 Lee Enfield No 4 Mk 2. It was sporterized and shoots the .303. I haven’t had it out yet but I plan too.
those will give your shoulder a good bite. especially the ones with the metal buttplates.
303 is a good round though if you’re going to try and hunt with it.
i tame the bite of the .303brit with a decellerator rubber buttpad. Most of mine are sporters, customized by me from noncollectable rifles/parts. I think I have harvested more deer with the .303brit than any other caliber. It’s not the thread for posting rifle pics hehehe but my treestand rifle is a real nice 1942 no1 mkIII lithgow heavy barrel , cut down to 18.5" , iron sight removed, tung oiled monte carlo stock with decellerator pad , custom scope rail to fit the existing weaver pattern and a 2-7x32 scope. All done in house.
Truly one of my favorite actions to hunt deer with
Respect. The Canadian armed forces kicked ass in Afghanistan. Rob Furlong held the world record for longest sniper shot for a long time. Craig Harrison beat that record, only to have it broken again by Canadians. For what it’s worth, any attempt to invade Canada would be just as…inadvisable as attempting it in the States.
You probably had deer walking all around you but got ripped smoking weed out of grandmas pipe and didn’t see or hear them.
@DougDawson checking in with my offerings for the giveaway, I’d like to send these as a single card directly to the winner if that works for the way things are set up.
Both of these:
And then eight seeds each of these two:
Call it two bakers dozens
Hello @Dirt_Wizard , I appreciate the support but that will make things a bit complicated. We normally pool all donations and then devide them up equally among those who sign up.
Oh okay, I can just send them to a distributor! That’s easy
@boatbum325 your donation arrived!
Wow! I just kept unpacking and unpacking…
Thank you for your donation!
