I spoted that Colombian widow in your stash. Id be very interested in seeing you grow those out @medmanbrand when you do. Should be good one. Did your seed source have any pictures of them grown out ? If not I will have to wait till you get round to them.

This is a strange angle but in the “Affidavit of Raymond Anthony Cogo” the 1988 catalog is mentioned as “Attachment 5” put into evidence in the Operation Green Merchant trial of Nevil, so it’s archived there at least?

Outstanding composition! Apologies on not acknowledging it earlier. Still figuring this platform out. I have compared notes with Beyond Organics on the Nigerian Silk working toward the original 5haze isolations and Alpine projects. He has been selecting the intersex traits out of the line for years with great success.

In the original 88 which was a Silk bx of sorts there were definitely intersex issues. I found and pulled Nevil’s forward in the line and now of over 100 Alpine they have been completely stable with 1 exception. In late flower this one that leans Silk will throw up late ~sterile male flowers.

I haven’t yet culled that one because it is the only one that has Camphene levels on par with The Seed Bank 5haze where most are pure frankincense.

It’s a pretty good testimony to the line that despite Nigerian Silk having this intersex potential it has been selected and used for ~40 year because of the effect. It is that unique to other sativa’s.

Thank you so much for this thread. I started growing as a kid in high school about 1983-1985. I am from a rural area and we were very isolated from most of the world. At that time everyone grew bagseed. If you were lucky enough to find a good plant that would finish in your area then you were “golden”. I found my strain in a bag of pot that I bought at the Halloween party in Athens. We had heard rumors of a guy in Amsterdam that was selling pot seeds. We would all laugh and say “that sumbitch is going to prison”. And he did. Clones were not practical so we would plant thousands of seeds and go back periodicaly to pull the males. Man how things have changed ! You old guys were pioneers and freedom fighters. We owe you more than we can ever pay. So again I say THANK YOU.

Cool documentation from a new OG member, he inherited these beans and notes from a close friend of his, Spencer. Who bred and preserved them from 2001 -2004 with this one original order from Marc Emry of Dutch passion euforia, Willy jack mix, the joker mix, and Jordan of islands mix. Spencer labeled each plant from the mix’s with individual letters and the breeders name. Not sure if member wanted to be mentioned so I will ask him and tag!!

:joy:. You and me both. If you don’t mind a haze level of patience I will do what I can to make it less available and in tact. There will be numerous accessions that come out of the Nigerian Haze project. If you give @beyond organics a follow on IG he has been doing linework with ‘pure’ Nigerian Silk seed. I don’t think he is distributing them, but good knowledge and pictures if you look all the way back.

The effect is very special and unique.

Thank you
I just gave beyond_organics a follow.
I assume he is the same guy, because he is followed by all my sativa peeps.

This is a terrific thread! Shit-bucket of info!

Import i found it better and at the time tgere was plenty to choose from. Good quality Thai, Jamaican, Indonesian, Philippino, African. Most of the Dutch homegrown was more sitting on the couch weed instead of energizing expect the Purple Haze early 90s.
