Oni's 2nd grow. Lessons learned

Some last pics of Diana before she’s pulled and hung to dry. I’m heading out for the day and giving her a last bit of light. Holy fuck is she strong though  I got high from accidentally nudging the pot earlier. My buddy stopped by to smoke and the smell made it much more intense after peak had already long since passed. No complaint here. Great genetics @ReikoX I’m just a little sad I couldn’t get her to get more, but I’m still more than happy with the quality. Should I dry and cure her if I’ll be pressing her for rosin?

Dry and a week or two in the jars until they are stable, then press is my SOP.

I’ll do that then. I’m looking for a dry outside, but a slight hint of moisture still in the core. I believe that’s what I want when ready for the jars correct?

Right then burp the jars for 20 minutes a day for a week or so until RH stabilizes.

Personally, I wouldn’t so you have options in placement…if it turns out to be too long, twist ties or pipe cleaners can help cinch it up to get the cord out of the way

Congrats!!

10’ is about the limit for 18 AWG wire, they will get some voltage drop on longer runs leading to less wattage.

Now that makes sense :stuck_out_tongue: I’ll have to keep that in mind the next time I put 4 20’ extension cords together for outside gardening…electric weed-wacker

That’s what I was thinking  once I’m back home I’ll shorten the wires to around 6’ before they connect to the boards. I assume the QB don’t help with voltage drop-off and I’m assuming I’ll have around a foot of wire at most between boards. The spot the lucky 7s are going in will most likely use the QB @MomOnTheRun sent me to make life and electrical safety easier

Plus with the input length being around 3’ I’ll have some wiggle room on where to place the driver for better placement of the QBs

Voltage drop is really only applicable to DC circuits. AC voltage isnt much of an issue. So no worries with the weed whacker or input power side.

Good to know on that
I like to assume on the side of caution. Don’t want to blow myself up or set any fires if I can help it.
Fires are reserved for smoking not for turning a house into kindling

I was basing pulling Diana off seeing her leaves eat themselves very fast today. I’m debating on it now. @ReikoX what’s your suggestion? She’s going to be chilling here in the window until she’s pulled. I saw her bulk up a bit and get a lot more frosty today since I left. I took flash pics after once I noticed she’s more frosty even in flash off pics😅

Wired up the QBs finally. Tested and work great. Holy fuck are they bright! Even on the floor there were no shadows on Diana chilling there in the window still.

Just woke up and I’m wiring the QB in the tent now that I’ve established they aren’t faulty and now I’m just struggling to get them in the tent and not bang into each other :unamused:

I had to remove the QB I’ve had in there to arrange things better. Zmeans are on the floor keeping things at lights on while otherwise I would have no light in there😅. If I keep them in the tent I don’t really have a place for them that’s not on the floor. They run cooler than the QB do at least.

It was so bright with 4 of them in this room here that even with a couch in the way as a wall Diana had no shadows cast. I can’t wait to see what they can do in the tent

Zelda’s must have gotten moved to hard when the lights were going in. All in now. Unless I shouldn’t keep them there the zmeans are on the floor providing some extra light. I think my QBs are 3500k or 4000k as it’s high in blue light visually. The 3000k QB I’ve been using gives off clear distinct 3000k light.

And as she appears to be still going I’ll be letting Diana run a little longer. Now that the lights are in properly and she can get one up close to get all the 3000k light she wants.

The new lights have already made a incredibly huge difference that I can see. Zelda is growing really fast on the tops RN and not really caring she almost lost her top😅

As Diana’s leaf color stabilized I’ll be keeping her under the 3000k QB until I put the lucky 7s in there instead.

You can probably get another week out of that one you want to harvest (scroll back to figure out you named her Dianna). She still has some pistils and will pack on a bit more weight as she finishes senescence.

Daisey looks happy, notice how she is “praying” to the lights. That’s what a happy plant will look like.

Just a personal observation. Giving your girls names makes it very hard for me to know what is what. Keeping the name if the cross + a number would be easier to follow.

So refresh this old man’s memory. What variety is each of you names? I know at least one is one of my crosses…

No worries there. I make sure to memorize the dates and how much younger they are after Diana. Luckily I remember she popped on November 18, 2018. Still so cute being dwarfed by that penny.
