Operation fuck cancer grow

We’ve got lift off! Two sprouted an are starting to stand tall. One hasn’t (The fabulous hulk never did crack in water, I’m not sure she’ll grow) so cute at this stage!

Probably should update on this run. Autos, in soil, under the marshydro ts600. I’m following the ilgm fert schedule again. Currently using a very weak mixture of their seed booster.

I’ve gotta add I’m really loving the marshydro tent. That extra height is so nice, made hanging everything much easier. Better in everywhere compared to my knockoff tent

I LOVE that! I wanna get one for dad, if I can find room, I’m pretty covered as it is lol

Some pictures of my other girls. I think the mites are under control for now, I’m seeing less leaf damaged. However I had to remove a lot of leaves to accomplish that :unamused:

You will thank yourself when it comes to trim time!!! Glad you’re getting them under control, the buds are looking great!

How much am I able to remove? Particularly the fan leaves mixed into the top cholas? (Pictured is one of my biggest cholas but it’s got so many fan leaves in there) I’m 7 weeks into flower now. I see more slightly damaged leaves I could remove here an there but was nervous to take to many an hurt the plants

I wouldn’t remove any of those. Fan leaves are the large leaves, not really those(at least from what I can tell).

I only had big fan leaves in the beginning towards the bottom, everything about the plants has always been on the smaller side. Probably from their rough life as my first grow lol

They look great. You will be getting to the swell pretty soon and man every day will look different!
Keep it up, we all had to learn somewhere. My first looked way worse than that!!!
I wouldn’t touch those leaves though. Just leave them be.

Most of those are sugar leaves. I would leave them unless yellowing. Save em during trimming to make bubble or dry ice hash / infuse butter or oil with em. Fan leaves tend to be larger and have an obvious stem separating them from the buds.

Do note, that kinda coverage depends on the strain. The black creams will have few fan leaves but they will stay on longer, and very few sugars you wanna trim (honestly, a trimmers dream!). Compare that to my Black n Blue Jack auto, that sucker is BUSHY AF, and will require a TON of sugars to be trimmed in comparison when it gets chopped.

Ahh okay pointing out how/where they grow makes more sense to me!
What I did instead of removing them completely was trim the tips that were browning. My Cinderella appears the most attacked by the mites, I’ve had to remove more from her than anyone :pensive:

I’ve officially raised my hoop house loops as far as possible, at this point I have no choice but to remove the cover. They are in early flower, will it cause harm to tie the branches down to help keep below the fence line? I’ve continued to bend down soft branches. Should I defoliate again while I’m in there?

You can train them to keep the height down without worries.
As far as defoliating, personally I would only do it if you have a reason. Especially in a dry environment, you shouldn’t have to worry as much about rot or moisture issues too much, though I am not in such an environment so that’s just speculating… If you have branches and leaves in the middle getting choked out, then I’d remove that I guess.

Today according to my fert schedule was the last feeding. My next step should be to to water with plain water until harvest? Do I do complete flushes each time? I’ve gotta start doing more research to prepare for that. I would say my trichomes are still cloudy for the most part. What do I do with the mites I still have when I dry? What about with the soil afterwards? Can it be used again?

Also wanted to share a picture of this one plants trunk. Looks like a whole damn tree lol

Wash your weed! NOT KIDDING… Seems SUPER counterintuitive (we don’t wanna create bud rot AFTER we harvested, right?) but man, once I did it, I will never not wash again. All the crap and oils that come off. (no, you’re not losing THC or any of the good stuff). There’s some posts on here about it. I do a 4-5 bucket process. 1/2C lemon juice / 4g water, 1/2C baking soda / 4g water, 1/2C hydrogen peroxide / 4g water, then 1 or 2 buckets with plain water for final rinses. Hang dry IN FRONT OF A FAN for ONLY a few hours (enough to remove your wash water, not dry the plant for smoking). THEN you can dry and cure how you like.

Nope, never again, it must be bagged and sent to outer space  LOL Actually many people re-use their soil, myself included. You will need to re-amend it to replace the nutes that the plant used, and there are a number of recipes on here for that. I toss mine in a giant 1cubic yard bag after chop, pulling out the heavy stem, but leaving all the fine roots to decompose. Add some amendments like worm castings, guano, green sand, bone / blood meal (stinky!), etc, and let it cook / decompose a little before re-using. Soils not cheap, re-use it as much as you can!

They do have the potential to get big  Did you see OTUG’s “tree” and resulting trunk from last summer? No clippers were taking that thing down, you NEEDED a saw to cut that trunk. From your pics, seems like your girls are happy
