Amen. I use mulch and extra mulch this year because we’re way behind on rain 14 inches behind “normal”. After harvest, i cover with plain cardboard to help smother weeds over winter. I set up organic nutes & compost about a month and a half before planting to get the soil organisms grow. The cardboard makes pulling the weeds much easier as well as holding moisture and getting worms in the upper layers of soil. Most pot feeder roots are in the top 4 inches of soil. Snails got two of my babies because I forgot to spread the snail snuffer stuff a month before planting. Now I’m spraying the babies with need oil mix. Fingers crossed. (Starting more seeds, just in case.)

A peek inside the Caged garden to view:
2 Starpupil Regular & 1 Lemon Pie Auto

Will be doing my best to grow out the Starpupil and make some seeds off a branch.

Looking good man! Starpupil looks like a fun variety! Almost always purple. That’s always fun. :purple_heart::purple_heart::purple_heart:

Just gave all the plants a 1 Tablespoon of Organic Coconut Sugar :coconut: (my version of cheap ass molasses) split between 4 water bottles. Hopefully it will make the Microbes go

Thanks

I wanna make a few seeds of this Starpupil F1 (just used the only 2 I had) also (save some Pollen) cross it with Grimace OG F2 outta Portland… :grimacing: and make a “Super Purple Berry” strain…

Both of these strains are almost always purple, extremely stable lines, both have excellent grape flavors & both won Cannabis cups :trophy: in the past.

Now let’s pray that I get the plants :potted_plant: to do what I want

Just ordered supplies to make my own compost teas. Should be fun and help the garden :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve heard of coconut water, but never coconut sugar. Where did you get this idea?

Are there any extra bundled nutrients you are hoping to benefit from, or is it just sugar?

Found it at the dollar store. Now it just carbs. It’s just to help microbes get moving lol no idea it its actually doing anything else.

Here’s hoping they are fire, and cooperate. They’ve got a good start! And a good caretaker.

@JustSumTomatoes update for ya…

Pistols are coming In better now, less “whispy” and more what I’m used to seeing. Just needed an extra day I suppose…

This strain is SUPER DENSE woah. Worried about mold and such.

Just completed a Medium sized defol of large fan leaves and tint branches on the underside that would be larf… Actually found several dried up dead leaves from it being so compacted.

Also SUPER Croped this Bi#$%… @JustSumTomatoes I know how you like it when I abuse your girls.

Didn’t Actually mean to get this rough though  cracked that large brach right off almost…

She’s got her arm wired up now (hopefully works well in the end)

Overall tent shot after supercroping other plants as well…

Look how freaking thick and dense these are.

PS. Atleast two of these plants when I give them a stem rub smell like Musky Orange Rind :tangerine:, not citrusy. Just a “Dirty/Musky/Orange Rind” type of smell… very nice… cheers.

Dense for real, definitely a good move on the haircut. This one happens to be prone to mold like you guessed. When I did the Nl cross with it I hoped to maybe remedy that while keeping some of the Orange Grove features. Look how crazy close the internodes are! The orange peel smell should start coming out more the coming weeks. This one really doesn’t want to be twisted, bent, or super cropped after a certain point. An Orange Grove tree pushing 8 feet can support itself without stakes outdoors, very thick stalked and branched. Kind of a trade off I guess, but good if you plan way ahead and do your topping and training early.

Those cuttings ever root for you?

Cuttings are having a hard time. It’d not dead, but it’s not thriving. Took another cut today, smaller ones… your right about the branches being very woody and hard as nails. This would make an excellent outdoor plant for sure

Scored the other day. Buddy of mine had a bag of organic wood charcoal ( I checked, no additives) that was smashed into small pieces (garbage for the grill in his words)
So I got the bag for nothing… Gonna make some Bio Char  from it. Gonna drop a load of coals, some established soil+ Worm poop + fish shit in a container and let it “stew” for a while. Then add to the worm Worm bin and No Tilll Garden…
