Oh yeah I don’t like chimneys with newspaper either, smokes out the whole neighborhood.

Works pretty nice with a cheap torch like this though.

I just torch the bottom layer for about a minute then fill it up. 15 mins later it’s ready to go and you don’t have to wait too long for the bad smoke to clear out.

Torching the pile without a chimney works pretty good too. Less smoke than other methods, I’m trying not to piss off the neighbors too much.

Smoked beer can chicken. Natural charcoal, hickory smoke, lemon pepper rub.

Inside: fresh pan of cornbread, mashed potatoes, rice with black beans.
