🕊 - Outdoor Growing Adventures With Your Friendly Neighbourhood Pigeonman - 2021/2022

Outside all is well. I told these ladies about the “new kids” indoors and they waved with approval (or it was just the wind but I choose to interpret it this way regardless lol).

After perusing my seed vault excel file I have decided upon the following AutoFems for ROUND 2 all getting popped this weekend  :+1:

Thank you all for the gifts/trades of these bean over this past year; I’m really looking forward to running them and showing y’all what happens :D.

Samsquanch OG x Creme de la Chem (@BasementBeans )
(Double Grape x 3 Bog) x Creme de la Chem (@BasementBeans )
Strawberry Nuggets x Creme de la Chem (@BasementBeans )
Sour Orange Diesel Kush (@BasementBeans )
Pineapple Express (@sprinklememaynee )
Man Bear Alien Pig x Double Grape (@Neb )
(Double Grape x Creme de la Chem) x Blackstrap (@hollyho )
Sour Crack x Blackstrap (@hollyho )

I know there’s seemingly a strong theme here with all the Mephisto crosses but to be honest it’s what I have in the vault that’s feminized.

I’ve got a bunch of regs I wanna run soon but I’m not in a position right now to have to sex autos for this second outdoor run… so those are gonna be for the next solo-cup challenge

I’m light on fems too but to be honest I kinda like regs.

Me too! But fem-autos are the bees knees for “set it and forget it” gardening if you packed planting medium with enough foods.

Excited to see these go! Sending positive vibes.

Omg! That’s an amazing line up! I’m so excited to see that sour crack cross! It has been my absolute favorite auto ever so far! I can’t wait to pop some of those myself  I really hope the lemon candy smell from the sour crack comes through in the cross :crossed_fingers:

Alright! I got 2x samples yesterday from Hydrotech Hydroponics which I applied today to both the photoperiod outdoors.

They were given to me because of my purchase of insect frass which I am adding into my weekly plant tea for its contains chitin helping with building up insect and fungi defence. I brought this up as frass isn’t a usual purchase for me and then the owners eyes lit up and she ran to her office to give me these:

1st sample:

Miicrobial Mass
Guaranteed Minimum Analysis =

Bacillus velezensis U47 - 10,000,000 viable spores/g
Bacillus velezensis U50 - 10,000,000 viable spores/g
Bacillus licheniformis U35 - 10,000,000 viable spores/g
Bacillus megaterium U48 - 10,000,000 viable spores/g
Bacillus megaterium U49 - 10,000,000 viable spores/g
Total: 50,000,000 viable spores/g

The 2nd sample was the product that popped in her head after my bringing up Chitin:

:open_mouth: :exploding_head:

Chitosal (same makers of Microbial Mass)
Active ingredients (Guaranteed Minimum Analysis) =

Oligochitosan 1%
Willow Bark Extract (salicin) 4%

This should be good!!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :+1:

It’s :canada: day so i picked our Cherries and White Mulberries…

…and then cleaned them and then tossed them into a pot with a little lemon juice, vanilla, and equal weight of sugar…

…to end up with 1x jar of jam  .

Here’s the Cherry tree (it’s only 4ft tall lol).

The White Mulberry, which is in a 5 gallon pot, also 4 feet tall and over winters in the garage (also lol).

Additionally Mrs. Pigeon’s :rose: 's are now fully open with appropriate colours to boot eh?!

For perspective of the sheer size of the living mass she’s weaved here, Mrs. P is “only” 5ft 3inches tall. :open_mouth: :rose:

Have a great day everyone!!

Nice. It’s always cool to harvest your own veggies and fruit.

Perennials are really rewarding to grow. We have a couple of raspberries we got a few years ago that produced about a gallon of fruit between them. Unfortunately, we cut them back too far, so no fruit this year. The silver lining is they both threw off several runners. We may have several bearing fruit next year.

Photoperiod’s Group Shot

And now to the autoflower patch; everything is either a few days to a few weeks away. BudBusterPro’s magic added what looks to be a week+ on these ladies so I may end up having to get some more fabric pots to up-pot round 2 by day 14 from seed.

AutoFlower Group Shot (I need to weed the raised beds again after we finally had some rain this past weekend)

On other fun things outdoors; there’ a new kitteh visiting us and Heathcliff is not sure how to take it…

It’s a really pretty cat and we hope they all get along.

And regarding the birds of the yard, Mrs. Pigeon has taken to the habit of trying to be her own version of a DizKnee Princess with the Chickadee’s in our yard. (Note: they do eat from her hand in the winter but she’s determined to make it an all season thing   )

I’m still pumping out stuff regarding my #FUCKCANCER project and just made up a batch of CBD biscotti with a CBD dark-chocolate dip for my dear friend fighting and winning the good fight.

This will be delivered to her tomorrow with a pile of CBD bath bombs made with dried rose petal from Mrs. P’s “hedges”.

All the best everyone! :hugs:

Mrs. Pigeon did the bulk of the picking all our Red and White Currants so after cleaning we ended up just shy of 6 lbs of berries. :+1:

We have a rule here where we share tasks if possible so since she did all the picking I made the jam!

It tastes fantastic and since I don’t use pectin it’s either gonna set to become a jam… or it’ll be one hell of a good sauce!!!
