The words “dachshund” literally means “badger-dog.” They were bred to dig out and kill badgers. Pound-for-pound, badgers and wolverines are the meanest animals other than humans. In the far north (Alaska, Canada, Russia, etc.) a 10-kilo wolverine can chase a 500-kilo brown bear from its own kill. Dachshunds were bred to hunt and kill them. Damn…

Yep! But FULL SIZED Dachshunds not what most people have which are usually mini’s.
Sponge was a “tweenie”, which is the weight class in between a mini and a standard.
And although he was terrified of the vacuum he NO JOKE would ATTACK THE RUNNING LAWNMOWER and successfully RIPPED OFF THE WHEEL TWICE when it wasn’t running 
Fun note: Their tails were bred to be the thing you can grab to pull them back out of the badger holes they dug down into for the kill… often with the dead badger clenched into it’s teeth. You DO NOT pull on the length of the tail, but it’s BASE or you may hurt your doggo.
The number of times I’d pull Sponge away from something by the base of his tail was more funny that it sounds.

I didn’t know that there were large ones. I’d always thought they seldom got bigger than about 10 kilos. Weenie dogs also tend to be pack leaders. My mom has a mini chiweenie, who weighs about 2 kilos but is the boss. It’s funny to watch a 20-kilo or so dog being deferential to a 2 kilo chiweenie.

30 gallon; I knocked out all the medium from them to amend my veg beds and then threw them in the washer to then refill and reuse for this year’s photoperiods.

They range from 9-12 kg but there are beefcakes out there sporting a learn muscle packed 14-15 kg of "I do what I want 
" unless you train them appropriately.
Celia is only part Dachshund and has an 8 pack, and is 11 kg of tube-steak meat tank with a smile to die for.

Bro, it’s the best. I’ve only ever seen it in Lebanon, but if you ever happen to find it in Toronto you have to get a cone. I need to try out some recipes and see what comes close.
