Overfeeding or overheating?

@ifish
So I can use a tray, fill then wait an hour or so, check the weight of the pot then drain?

No , if flooding a tray you flood to say 1/4 1/3 max of pot hight and drain straight away , you control the amount of fluid in pot by how high you flood not length of time , flood and then drain straight away , a small plant just flood 1/10 hight etc it’s easy to get a feel for it : )

Put holes at different heights on pot to use as guide and help pot absorb the fluid evenly and quicker , a good tip if coco or soil is to line inside of pot with weed controll fabric to block access for gnats at holes , no gnats will live in dry soil at top of pot , too dry cuz bottom feeding , win win
Because soil absorbs fluid harder than say Rockwool , you could wait 5-10 secs befor draining maybe to give soil slightly more time to absorb
A watering should last about 2 days befor needing to be flooded again , more than 3 and your overwatering , a day or less and it’s a pain in the ass , this is guide to get used to weight of pot for size of plant : )
Some yucca extract in your water will help pot absorb fluid easier and more evenly thru out pot ie no dry spots and quicker absorption , dosnt have to be yucca with every watering , say once a week or fort nite , the difference is noticeable : )
