Past adventures - mostly Bodhi or pollen chucks using his genetics

@Kyleromero94

Please check this grow thread out. @syzygy spares no detail when it comes to providing us eye candy.

I am now following this syzygy as when I first stumbled on this I was so new. I’m super impressed now with all the work you’ve done and in kind of interested in that beautiful Ghost HP !

I’m surprised you’re not part of our little team with @HeadyBearAdventures @TopShelfTrees1 and others haha but I do see you are a one man army !

Great times :chair:

Whats the backstory on your bubbashine pheno? Did you find it in F1s, F2s or something else?

Mine wasn’t my favorite really but it was a very frosty plant and could get really stinky depending on how well it was grown. I actually retired my mother of it a few months ago and the last cutting is currently holding seeds from 2 triple sunshine males. Smoke was a bit too sedative, “dreamy”, and couchlock for how I use Cannabis really. I almost never opened the jar when there were other jars around, which to me is one of the more accurate ways to judge the flower.

I could see how some people may find it useful medicinally for sure though. Quite a few people who have sampled it locally seemed to have really liked it also so maybe I’m just weird.

I found it in F2s from @Uprangewilly terps are more pretty than dank. I really like it but we’ll see how it smokes.

Oooooffff I believe I’ve got a pack of those…I also believe it’s from you ! I love dreamy highs sometimes !

I’m trying to bring it to auto if the high is just right. I’m always in pain so I’ll make sure to be slightly damaged the day I smoke :joy:

But bringing a photo to auto is my main goal just finding the right contenders is so difficult

How was the nose and effects from the Goji F2’s mate? Were these from the forum repro?

I think I went through 6 or so females and a few were pretty good. I enjoyed the one I wish I would have kept a lot more than the Pinesoul Goji OG F2 cut (archive). For me none of the Snow Lotus crosses that I’ve grown have been that loud, but it may be grower error. It’s been a while and don’t trust my memory so I’ll rely on what I posted at the time I had the flower in hand :

Effects and review of the mother of the F1s that I made can be found here :

and I have a few reviews of the F2s scattered throughout my old Goji thread

I’d expect there to be some good stuff in the community F2 project, but it may require some sifting through populations as always. Personally, I’ve enjoyed a few phenos of SunRA (SFV OG x Wookie15) more than the Gojis that I went through - very similar effects with significantly stronger and more attractive smells.

Thank you very much mate. Extremely informative write up as always. The Snow Lotus and Goji are high up on the “bucket list” for the future. From everything I read, there looks to be some real potential in the line for uplifting and joyous highs that are not anxiety inducing.

I also noticed the pistillate SSDD male above - is there any write up or information on him and his progeny available? Do the pistils indicate sexual instability (in the progeny, from your experience)? Is this common on resinous males?

Have you found many/any resinous males in your experience in general?

Sorry to throw so many questions at ya!

A few forum members tried the F2s from that male and intersex expressions in the progeny didn’t appear to be an issue, but ymmv. There doesn’t appear to be a consensus among breeders on using pistillate males - some are in favor of it and others are not. I just documented it for transparency sake. I considered popping more SSDD seeds and finding another male but finding a TS male to make F2s & dust the SSDD mom seemed like a better use of time.

I’m more interested in that TS male that dusted the SSDD than the SSDD F1 male but that’s mostly because I’m slightly soured on SSDD after a few more disappointing females in the F1s. Bodhi’s SSDD crosses seem to consistently put out high quality plants though. Every female in that pack of Triple Sunshines was high quality in my book.

I know a few people at the end of my SSDD thread were growing out some of those SSDD F2 chucks - Knifeman , Tessellated , unomas and a couple others I think. The few TS-A x SSDD chucks look pretty nice in the pictures I’ve seen and that was from the same male. Wish I could be more help but I’m just pollen chucking here to loosely preserve stuff, not a breeder!

Also people have been posting pictures in the B thread lately of some of the chucks we’re discussing.

Doesn’t bother me at all, you can always reach out and if I’m in a position to use a keyboard I’ll try to respond!

Interesting for sure. I recall a breeder talking about this subject on a potcast. Maybe DJ Short? For memory, they were talking about it being somewhat preferred but I don’t recall 100%.

Probably a silly question, but do you know what the evolutionary purpose of a male producing resin is? Is this just a mutation? If this aided in reproduction, more males would show this trait I assume.

The TS as a whole just looks insane. The TS x SSDD has so much potential to outshine both the parents from everything I have seen and read. Very exciting stuff.

Haha, every master-craftsman I’ve met has had a similar sentiment. Man, your responses and posts have been an incredibly valuable resource already and will continue to be for myself and many others for a long time, i’m sure. For some feedback - The level and quality of info you include also allows people to develop a bit of an understanding of your personal preferences in plants and highs, which adds an additional layer of engagement with the content and how I apply it to my own situation. Fun stuff!

Anyways, thanks again for all of your time. I definitely never have an expectation for a quick (or any) response but I’m very appreciative regardless.

Holy moly. What did you think of granola funk? By number 3 my jaw dropped :open_mouth:

There are some really photogenic plants in the line. The F2s I popped looked even better. Smells / flavor were kind of lacking and effects weren’t anything special. Has ornamental value but not much more. Having sampled Lav Jack I’d say Granola Funk is kind of similar in quality to Lav Jack, only with less odor.

That said, I’ve read people rave about phenos they’ve found over on RIU so ymmv.
