Smoke Report:
All samples were fresh frozen and freeze-dried for 13 hours, then re-humidified to 60% in two hours at ambient room conditions
ASS x Miles Ahead (Bad Dawg Freebies) @Great_lakes_Genetics
Appearance:
Different green hues with orange and red and white pistils, fist size nugs (broken down to fit in freeze dryer). Average density with stickier resin glands.
Smell:
In the jar, orange and minty pineapple lead the way, with some cherry notes up front as well. The back is creamy funkiness. Very nice.
Taste:
Unfortunately most of the flavor doesn’t translate to the tongue. Bland creamy sweetness with notes of cherry and orange on the finish. Quite smooth smoke.
Potency/Effect:
My first try with this was after dinner the other night. I was physically tired, but mentally wired when consumed. I smoked a bowl and a tube and really didn’t feel much in the head or body. Just a light feel good sensation. This clearly wasn’t going to surpass heavier stuff I had consumed earlier in the day. Take two on a wake n bake the next AM and the light high felt more impactful and put me in good spirits for the rest of the morning while not at all effecting my focus or attentiveness. The milder high was mentally short lasting ~30 mins.
6/10 Potency
Mango OG (Clone Only)
Appearance:
Frostiest of the run, bic lighter sized nugs, quite light coloration with longer trichome stalks with decent head size.
Smell:
Balanced blend of classic OG, mango, and light lemon smells in the jar. Upon break up, the lemon steps up and the mango fades a bit. A little bit of fuel comes through to tickle the nose hairs.
Taste:
Consumed in a Mighty vape and a cone. In the vape, the fruitiness is still present, but definitely in the background. In a cone, the fruitiness is overpowered by a bland OG taste profile with out much lemon.
Potency & Effect:
I smoked this after work, after being in the car for four hours. I felt pretty baseline physically and mentally. This did not help my focus in video games or cooking dinner. Pretty lazy feeling that had me ready for bed an hour or two early. Couchlocky. High lasted 2-2.5 hours.
7.5/10 potency
Weave Match #2 (Cannarado - Carbon Fiber x LPC 75)
Appearance:
Uhh Cookies? Quite photogenic flowers, little golf balls. Shorter stalks and smaller trichome head sizes, but pretty well coated. Sandier feeling resin.
Smell:
Complex forest floor, mossy, perfumey OG profile accented with some fuelly limonene present upfront in the jar. Upon busting up an efflorescence, the limonene becomes more present and balances the OG notes. Pretty rank.
Taste:
Cream, earthy, forest floor perfume coat the palette and some fuel is notable in the exhale. I foresee this jar emptying soon. Sampled in a Mighty and a cone.
Potency & Effect:
Smoked this for the first time after trying ASS x Miles Ahead an hour prior. Mentally active still, with a tired body, slightly lessened from the previous smoke. This cut through and had my body feeling nice and loose while calming my mind. I wanted to fall asleep on the couch watching TV like a teenager. In fact, I did indeed nod off in my recliner before getting to bed. The high lasted at least 2 hours (fell asleep)
No keepers
NOTES:
Freeze dried flowers came out of the dryer at 29% humidity. I jarred samples with cheap hygrometers every 30 mins to determine the re hydration rate. The room humidity was 53-55% RH. 00:30 sample was reading 52% RH, the 01:00 sample read 53% RH and the 01:30 sample read 54% RH. So it appears that in about two hours the freeze dried flowers get to smokable humidity ranges. Also, the three samples above were given about three days in the jar and no hay or fresh notes were present.
More research will have to go into Fresh Frozen Flower Rosin, as my yields were very poor, probably due to the dryness in the flowers, which were pressed at 58-60% I tried to press the Banana OG and the Mango OG.
I will get to updating my flowering tents shortly.
