Pest ID and Management

hey all, i just transplanted my plants from solo cups into 3-4gal pots, only to find out they are all heavily infested with what i thought were spider mites. I’ve grown for 12 years and never had a single problem like this. I’m heading to the grow shop tomorrow to explore my options. If you recognize the pests from this pic please let me know exactly what they are. This is a picture of my worst plant almost dead but easier to identify the problem as it’s heavily infested :

do my plants have any hope or is this a take everything down and clean/start over situation?

I believe those might be aphids

I think you could get rid of them I’d manually remove as many as I could then I’d spray them with something like dr zymes, canna mammoth or Castile soap water and some essential oils or even a combination of pm sprays :+1:

Those insects are aphids. Make your own soap spray to control them.

They’re aphids indeed:

Captura

Hit them hard with a hose and then use the suggested soap and pesticides, you can win this battle … :muscle:

Hopefully not for future reference but it’s very hard to see mites without some kind of magnification, it’s easier to see the damage they cause. So if you can see them with the naked eye they won’t be mites.

Grow some companion crops like vetch, broccoli and kale alongside your cannabis, they will go to those and leave your cannabis alone.

Agreed. But I have very good vision and while I can’t see them directly I can see their movement. Only had them one time though.

Ohhhhh, aphids 100% sap sucking bastards! Lol. I put on a glove and squish them good, then I spray the stems and leaf undersides with skim milk or 1% or 2% milk diluted at 50% for an all natural approach.

Dude, that’s a wipe start over. You’ll waste more time / energy/ money trying to fix. Wipe your slate.

I really should have just given up and cleaned everything thoroughly but i decided on the other route and picked up some Azamax. The plants are only about 6 inches tall so it was fairly easy to remove leaves, use tape to remove a bunch of the aphids on stems and leaves and spray down everything. I’m going to up the concentration of the Azamax and spray everything down again in a couple days. On a positive note none of the aphids seemed to be moving… they were all moving a week ago. Even if it doesn’t work out it won’t be too much work to start over, either way it’s a learning experience.
