Phyllotaxy (whorled) Tashkurgan landrace (real seed co) backcrossing with male, or looking for a phylotaxy female

been growing this afghani that had 3 leafs at a time instead of two

easy to clone

it changed a bit after getting bigger…
then it kinda alternates one leaf at a time on three sides

it turned out to be a male, which i wasn’t expecting

but that makes backcrossing a lot easier

so i was looking for anyone that had a phylotaxy female, preferably landrace
to share pollen with

or any suggestions on how to use the pollen, as in, pollenating some other type of mutant plant.

Hey @moldy-old_goer do you still have pollen of that plant? I have a Beldia female that might be interested.

Phyllotaxy is a somatic mutation and is not passed onto the offspring.

thanks for the info.

i assume what you are saying to be true…

i guess my question in response would be,

what about land-races makes this mutation/trait pop up more?

That mutation happens in “ALL “plants to some degree. I think it is just a mistake that happens when the genetics are shuffled.
