Now would be the time to do it before the crap storm gets worse over that way. Me, Iām staying home in the states. Itās getting crazy here to but if my wife or I have to holler for help I know, pretty surely, that someone will hear that understands English.
Itās a shame really. I would absolutely LOVE to take that trip!
Iām kinda envious TBH.
I remember two NYS troopers at the bar telling me to be careful driving home? It was no problem, I just watched and followed the guy in front of me. Odd thing is he had about 8 taillights due to my blurred vision.
Lol After talking to a few members, I have put off the impression Iām older than I amā¦
Turned 30 in July, grumpy sore old man at heart.
Roughly 1985 I went out to the bar, it was a little early in the one I was at so I finished my beer and went out to find one with a few more people. I wanted to get into the curb lane to turn and get to the nightclub district. The light was read and when it turned green I punched it and got in front of the car in that lane. I did not get over the speed limit or drove recklessly, I only had a 231 six cylinder in a Grand Prix (no turbo). I could not spin my tires on a good day.
And the flashing lights went on. Shit, pulled over. The cop took my license and registration. He came back and asked me if I had been drinking, I thought about it, I only had one beer but just said yes. He asked me where I worked. Shit, this may not go well. I said xxxx Brewery. He asked, āWould xxx Brewery be impressed if you got charged with being impaired?ā I thought, give him the true answer or the one he wants to hear. So I said, āXxxx Brewery would not be impressed.ā He said he was letting me go, that I was to get a cup of coffee the first place I could. I said thank you and drove very politely away.
The real answer is everyone they would think it wonderful of me getting charged, they all have at one time or another. But I thought if I answered that way I would just end up at the police station, blow into a breathalyzer and show I was not impaired. But that might take an hour before I could get another beer. So I drove off and hit the bar in my neighborhood. Figured do not test fate again that night with me driving a ways after drinking.
No way a cop now will just let you go with a be careful getting home.
Iāve also had Sheriffās deputies tell me, maybe 10 years ago, that if they smell marijuana in the car they donāt want to bother dealing with it. It was decriminalized by then so for them it meant a lot of paperwork (time and effort) that would go nowhere. They also said that was not the case with alcohol. They said you would regret drinking and driving if they ever pulling you over. They pursue that with vigor. A friend said itās all about the Benjaminās, it cost him $10,000 and a lot of pain when his blood alcohol was quite high.
I had a good relationship with a bartender (more than the most I had a relationship with back then) and her boyfriend was a cop. The cop would confiscate liquor from the kids and pour it out, telling them donāt get caught again. Of course there was always a kid some times that got all uppity, and had no sense. In to the back of the cruiser for you.
@WubbaLubbaDubDub, I think it is more the depth and breadth of your knowledge and experience, rather than your grumpiness, thatās giving you the glorious aura of age.
Thanks man i really appreciate that!
Iāve always been very interested and passionate about gardening.
But looking back through my journal I have been a little too excited about all the kneeling pads and things for my grow lol. I understand if people thought I was older than I was
@WubbaLubbaDubDub
For.me its hard to be sure some one is old from talking to them onlineā¦but its often obvious when they are youngā¦or if they are from Texas.
My GF works in a gym and ended up with this really thick yoga mat that some woman opened as she walked in, used for one class, and left behind. My GF held it for like a month and this woman never came back for it so she sprayed it down with alcohol and brought it home. I put it outside my tents so I can kneel on that when working in there and damn what a difference!
Iāve been told weāre the Texas of Canada
This post was going so well & then went downhill from hereā¦
The reality ends where it was started to head
Definitely thought that that was headed in a far less wholesome direction.
This about sums up my age/generation (to a degree)ā¦when Spears dropped this album I was raising my first baby, changing diapers. ā:baby_bottle:
Definitely, describes MY low back pain today accurately!
I remember seeing Curtis Mayfield on Mike Douglas and thinking I gotta have a white guitar like that
NO MATTER HOW OLD I GET I WILL ALWAYS BE YOUNG ( thats my last name)
I threw away many years working in a nasty business that I learned to dislike immensely over 20 years. But living rurally, the opportunities were slim. I wanted to be an apprentice carpenter but there was no economy in rural NY in 1975. I donāt regret anything because that seems futile now but if I knew thenā¦
