@DougDawson well, my 'garden’s is just solo cups in a ball jar case box with cardboard dividers. Makes it easier to chase the sun around the house.:grin:
Also, there’s not too many bugs on my screened in porch. All these plants will be going outside eventually, and will face many trials and tribulations before they reach Awesomesauce status.
I was a little trepidatious about using this new medium, but after a not so long wait, this has started…

And I am a beaming proud father!!! Happy so far!

Nice man. Hey, it’s just my paranoia. Lots of folks bring stuff in and out. The best light for plants is the sun after all.

It’s just the way I start to harden them for the outdoors. I give them outdoor exposure bit by bit until I am sure I can just leave them outside all day. It can be tricky, one time I lost a whole tray putting them in the direct sun a little too early. They died in a matter of a few hours of unsupervised attention. Just drooped over and the small stems shriveled and they all died. still hurts to this day, was a valuable lesson.

I’d like to leave an honorable mention here for ☆DJSF
May he rest in peace, and has found himself on his own great grow mountain in the sky, all to himself, and continue to fly around and drop seeds on our other friends that have passed. Perhaps there is an OG in the sky, ☆DJSF may you find it, and forever grow in peace.

Some watering and temp issues, no biggie. Support system.

I like the toothpick/bread tie support system.

What’s the best way to build up the stem girth a little? Do you just plant deep when you transplant to maximize the support?

I always have a small fan blowing to add some muscle to those stems.

That’s exactly what I do. And the more sunshine they receive, the more they straighten up.

have a small fan blowing
This is a great idea!

Journal entry:
Put kids out in sun and shade and had a few leaf tips sizzle and burn. Only 2~3 plants but still. Was 70± today, still in 30s at night. First April its been this fickle. Remember this. Stick with April 15 soak, and 3rd or 4th week hardening, with 2nd backup planting 3±4 weeks later, (May 15) and don’t ignore Farmers Rule. Plants in by May 31.
Also, don’t forget to put creek stones in bottom of solos for drainage. That’s a Rule. Too wet without proper drainage. Make sure drilled holes in bottom of solos are cleared of mud to allow drainage.
Don’t trip over a little lime greening. And don’t sweat the small shit. What don’t kill it makes it stronger.
And never forget. Its a fuckin weed. It can grow in a crack in the sidewalk if it wants to.

It may look like a lot, but after culling the weaker plants, murdering the males, and gifting a few I only end up with, uh, some…

In the spirit of contribution, I have some outdoor tester spots open. Not a lot, and window closes last wee of April as I am outdoor MA. You can see a sample of some grows, PVOGS AWESOMESAUCE 2022 And 2023. I could squeeze a half dozen in, won’t see full cured report til late Dec, early Jan, full disclosure.

Edit: This spot has been filled!!
