Question on candy making

Wanted to make some CBD gummies for my dad who suffers chronic pain.

Most of the recipes im reading call for a tincture. Now I can only find everclear and glycerin tincture recipes.

Does any of the alcohol remain after cooked?

My dad is also a recovering alcoholic so im worried about that aspect of it.

Thanks for your help!

IME all of the alcohol is cooked away by the time it starts boiling. Any alcohol that may be left is less than what one would find in cough syrup. :+1::seedling:

Are you using plants you’ve grown or purchased?

Plants ive grown…why?

I have used CBD isolate that I have purchased to make oil for myself and my pets. I paid $30 for 3 grams, which is not a bad price. Cuts out some of the steps and you can dose accurately.

I use ethanol for my canna caps, none remains as near as I can tell, and one beer will have me on the floor in pain. Well, a regular beer… oddly light beer is just weak enough I can sneak one every once in a while.

I had made gummies with the tincture as well a while ago, results were great. I also give any edibles I didn’t make a sniff test. If you smell ethanol it’s not dry yet.

I decarb the weed and infuse it into cocunut oil

Then simply mix up some lecithin jello glycerin and water heat and pour into candy molds.

They must be good because people sure keep coming back for them :joy:
