Redrum's Records and Room of Respite

Random thought: I was fruiting cubensis long before I was flowering cannabis, so I think I have a bias towards working with jars partially from that, too. (Though, ironically, I will admit I exclusively stored finished, dried shrooms in bags, because I saw no reason for jars outside of spawning/colonizing … Irony?)

Anyone out there reading, if you haven’t ever grown p. cubensis (shrooms) I’d highly recommend. Almost nothing in common with growing weed, top to bottom, so it’s a completely new set of skills and challenges, like maintaining sterility, which I struggled with greatly. Apparently, humans are more closely related to plants than plants are to fungi, to put it in perspective. I learned a lot and barely scratched the surface, because there is so much. Couldn’t reliably fruit tubs or make liquid cultures anywhere near 100%, or even 75%, but boy did I try. PF tek variations took me far, though, so I spent a lot of time learning about sealing jars properly

The startup costs for a small run is basically nothing. Maybe $30 plus spores ~$25, and like seeds, they are easy to order on clearnet without signficant danger.

From my friend/generous benefactor @Coda, Sugar Cane and Deluxe Sugar Cane (In House Genetics), just starting flower.

Deluxe Sugar Cane - Two pretty different looking plants, should make for some good pheno hunting. Both looking very full and healthy, and have just been repotted, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they bush out and/or stretch quite a bit in the first couple weeks of flower

And the Sugar Cane… wow, did #1 already blow up. In danger of being too tall for lights if she keeps on like this. I have no explanation how she is 2x the height of her sibling/half siblings before flowering stretch has even begun!

The next 6-8 weeks are going to be beautiful!

Your grow looks stellar, as usual my friend. I hope they’re good to you

Your liking in-house pretty good huh? Have you had any herming issues? They seem to get a bit of hate but I have a couple packs from them. And so far the plants you have grown from them seem pretty solid.

So far I’ve loved every seed of theirs I’ve popped, but to be fair, it’s been 2-4 seeds apiece from ~4-5 different strains, so it’s not exactly a conclusive test, I could just be on a lucky streak, but I’d certainly recommend them (especially when they can be found on sale) I’ve found some at places like North Atlantic Seed Co occasionally selling them for buy one get one 50%-75% off, and that’s when I get all mine, which makes them a more reasonable $7-10/Seed, not so much into buying $15-20/apiece seeds unless I’m really convinced

(Edit: looking right now, 50% off 5 and 6 packs. Good cheap time to get a sample… I feel like an ad)

LOL, statistically unlikely, like flipping heads 12 times in a row… :+1:

Haha true, very unlikely, but maybe I should buy a lottery ticket and put that kind of luck to the test, just in case…

I’m guessing that yeah, In House is solid, but I don’t want to be giving out any guarantees to those casually reading; i like to be cautious!

SugarCane and Deluxe Sugar Cane at around day 30 of flower. Each strain has 1 plant staying thick and bushy, and 1 plant stretching like crazy.

Sugar Cane left, Deluxe on the right (i think). Shorter plants hiding behind their taller sisters.

And the shorter sisters shown to the right

Assorted bud shots, mostly of the taller 2. Will come more organized with a few close ups of each next time.

And a random shot from months ago: a tiny lower bud of King Sherb IX at the end of flower, and starting a reveg period (which failed)

I know i said i’d come organized with the next set of Sugar Cane and Deluxe Sugar Cane shots, but life has humbled me once again. Before these lovely ladies finish, in the next 2-3 weeks, i promise i’ll drop off a more organized post/review.

A mix of shots of Sugar Cane #1 and #2, and Deluxe Sugar Cane #1 and #2, finishing the 7th week of flower.

Still looking pretty solid! The touch on color contrast in #4 makes from a nice picture!

By far the stretchiest plant ive ever grown. Went from 3ft tall to 6ft in about 2 weeks. Taller than i am!

The other one stayed pretty tight the whole way. Weird how that goes

Glad you like it! Im stuck working with just a phone camera, and despite having a decent, new-ish phone, its camera is just awful close up, so i try a lot of different lighting settings to try to coax some sharpness and detail into the pics

Got lucky enough to catch some of the aurora last week. Never seen any before in my life, let alone one this insanely brilliant. Can’t say it changed my life, but it certainly will be a memorable moment for the rest of my life. Quite thankful.

Man, same. I have dysfunctional sleep, and apparently im already an old man at 33, because im often nodding out at 8pm. Lucky for me, this one started early (i think around 9pm), basically as soon as the sun fully set, and it was fully dark, it was very visible.

Ive accepted that the ones that happen midnight - 2am are not happening for my sleepy ass
