ReikoX's Workshop Rebuild 2020

You’re gonna have a hell of a setup when this us finished

Well now that I’ve torn it all down, there is no going back heh?

Today I cleaned up the ceiling tiles and the furring strips. Then I swept up all the nails and such. Finally I put a few coats of exterior primer/sealer on the walls. Painting is a lot easier when you dont have to worry about dripping paint on the floors. I always hated the yellow color in there.

I painted the shelf under the window and the window sill as well. This was the only part where I needed an edging brush.

perfect time for acoustic decouplers between the ceiling joists & rock

but i’m ultra annoyed by noise.

I was thinking about some R-19 insulation though. The room upstairs is my bedroom, so it’s not like I’ll be bugging myself. :joy:

I’ve been debating between pulling through the veg room or having separate ventilation systems for each side. As it is, the workbench is going to be a very tight fit, and with a separate intake for each, the workbench would block the intake for flower. Thoughts or suggestions?

separate intake and exhaust for veg and flower (front)

separate intake and exhaust for veg and flower (back)

shared intake and exhaust for veg and flower (front)

shared intake and exhaust for veg and flower (back)

Yeah man ! Goals …Great layout .

Cut a square in the door for the intake near the bench. (?) Not as symmetrically 'purty but neglibile difference in airflow, right?

I have a hard time keeping my clone cab cool with the intake at the top of it, it just recycles the hot air higher up. Really you need the intake lower unless you are planning to run the aircon all the time.

Also I personally would not run one through the other, in case of hermies pollinating everything, I did this with my clone and veg tent, extracting out of the veg tent, and through the clone cab, the humidity was always high in the clone cab, but that was what I was aiming for, but from veg to flower it could be a problem if you want to keep your humidity lower and not run a dehumidifier or aircon.

What about a periscope in the wall? You could make your own with some HVAC ducting? Then have it pull in above the workbench next to the other vent?

A hole in the door just seems tacky and prone to light leaks.

I see now that it is not very clear from the pictures, but I am doing essentially the same thing using the wall. This is to prevent light leaks.

Pretty much will be running it as needed to keep the room at 73°F. The big room will serve as a lung room. I’ll condition the air there to keep the flower room happy.

I’m not worried about pollen, these grills all have HEPA filters on them, so I should be fine. Plus the veg room really is over sized at 4x4. I only plan to run about 250 watts for mothers and clones. I plan to veg and flower in the 4x6 room.

Still thinking it all through, I may move the intake to be straight through to keep it low. Another issue is using the wall space as a periscope barely leaves me enough airflow for the 8" fan. I normally like double that for passive intakes…

Here is a quick pro/con list I posted on ICMag.

The periscope would go on the bottom of your flower room in the wall directly next to your workbench. Then you would put a vent in the wall right above your workbench pulling air in and dumping it on the floor area in your flower room. I’ve put these in a buddy’s flower room wall and used them for a dryer vent. The even have extendable ones.

Dispite my workshop being under construction, I kept my press accessible. Today I decided I would press some rosin for my brother’s birthday.

About 45 minutes later, I have a nice pile of parchment to collect.

A variable cornucopia of flavors, consistencies, and yields.

@ReikoX that looks so sweet. You always do da dabs. Look what you got me to do.

It’s the Linx Ares Honey Straw. Ya I know it’s a poor cousin of the Badger :badger: but what I could find in Canada at a decent price.

Wow is this ever convenient. I can see more pressing in my future.

Update. I may be dipping it too deep. I took a nice couple pulls of the C99 grapefruit. Then I pressed the heating button again and was able to take 5 more pulls before I cleaned it. Shit.
It’s now an hour later and I’m finally thinking of trying it again.

When I use mine, I like to put s dab on a dab tool, then hit off the dab tool. That way I can judge the size of the hit better. :+1::seedling:

If you have the means I’d go with separate intakes and exhausts. If a fan fails at least one half will remain moving, and I’m a firm believer in more airflow is always better. If you used dimmable fans you could easily dial in each space as needed.
