Had 4 seeds in total sprout, 2 are above soil and the other 2 look like they will be soon.

I tried to get a 2nd Amazon light which got lost in transit and i ended up with a refund so i am thinking i should just stop screwing around and build something decent now rather than go through a bunch of crap to only spend 3x amount of money to end up doing this in the end but losing out on yeild etc along the way.
I have also started organizing my little corner of the basement which i call my grow area.

Had this little bookshelf not being used worked perfect for nutrient bottles and other random stuff to clear of some bench space.

4 are out of the soil, the other 2 smaller plants are just random seeds that i have no idea what they are, should be interesting.

Well dont feel too bad rob. My first yield wasnt great either but I learned a ton. Like I said the other day man I’m happy to trade yield for knowledge. I’ve noticed my 2and run is going more smoothly for the most part compared to my first. Honestly that’s all I was hoping for. Just wanting to apply things I’ve learned with better results. Look forward to seeing your new run man

That is exactly the same for me i know this 2nd grow will be better, i learned enough to make it better and i will also have better lighting, 3rd grow i can’t wait I’ll gain even more experience and I also plan to get in on a seed run and hopefully get some decent genetics.

Yeah I just started my second one a few weeks ago. Im getting the money together for the light for mybsecind tent then everything else is cheaper to buy so hopefully will have more space for my 3rd grow

Nice! So we could possibly harvesting around the same time. I hear ya on getting money together for a light I’m in the same boat but I think the order is going to happen today I’ve wasted enough time.

I was planning on building my own grow light but been hitting some snags and the cost is getting quite high so at this point i am starting to think i may just have to buy a light until i have more money and time… i seen these what does everyone think of this light? Its a perfect size for my space and it seems to be quality parts i see it’s a meanwell driver and Samsung LED chips, comes in 3500k and 3000k for a small price difference.

What does everyone think of this light?

It’s not a bad light, they use the cheaper XLG drivers, but they should still perform well. $250 Canadian bucks is pretty reasonable.

I’ve scrapped the idea, got looking into the dimensions and its about 25"×7.5" in comparison to 22"×44" of coverage by building my own. I’ve stopped over thinking and just ordered everything for a DIY bridgelux/ meanwell build. This is definitely my best option. Thanks everyone, greatly appreciated!

Another little update.
Here is the cheese and the critical kush this is 10 days since I’ve taken them from paper towel and put into soil.

These two are the random seeds i have no idea what they are, this is 5 days since I’ve taken them form paper towel and put them into soil.

And as some people know here is a update on the lighting upgrade, after lots of searching and reading and of course over thinking I’ve finally placed a order yesterday from Digikey.ca for 16 bridgelux strips along with a meanwell driver, I’ve also bought the angle aluminum for the framing, here is a mock up of it. The size is 22"×44"

And being that it is aluminum and aluminum and steel react and I want to keep it clean looking and avoid any corrosion I’ve decided i will put the frame together with aluminum rivets.

And I’ve also got the wiring bought, 18AWG single core and i like that 1 is white and 1 is black which keeps it simple and avoids confusion.

My strips and driver is scheduled to arrive Monday, when i start putting all this together i am thinking i will document it and really dumb it down for people like me who over think everything. Only thing left is to figure out how i want to secure the strips to the frame, I want to see the strips in person before i decide what I’ll use. I am also gonna add up the exact cost of everything after it’s complete in case anyone is interested.

Hey Rob, looks great. Came back to check in on how things went for you.

My Stardawg and LSD are nearing the finish line and much like yourself, I plan on building a Bridgelux setup.

Keep me posted on how it turns out!

I plan to do a step by step with all the info involving start to finish, hopefully it may help someone at some point i know it really boggled my mind and that was just the research, but also i want it just for my own reference as well. Came home today to a box with this.

As well as 16 of these.

As well a smaller box with a new phone that has 5 different camera’s so hopefully my pictures are going to be better going forward as well.

And a group shot.

I’ve got a long weekend coming this weekend. Here in NewBrunswick we have NewBrunswick Day which is the first Monday of every August, so I think I am going to take advantage of the extra day off and build this light .

I am wondering do these look where they should be or are they behind. These are cheese and critical kush, I just took these pics they are day 16 since I’ve put the sprouted seeds into soil.

And these 2 are just random seeds and they are day 11 since the sprout was put into the soil.

They are going about the same speed as my last grow and I am trying to figure out if it’s something I’m doing or not doing or is the beginning this slow.
