Robert Kennedy Jr's view on cannabis legalization

He would legalize cannabis federally, tax it, and use the tax money to fund rehab homes which are also farms where people can detox and heal while learning how to grow food organically.

Hes concerned with the chemicals from plastic and pesticides messing with peoples hormones, specifically children.

I dont particularly like the guy, but if you think hes homophobic or transphobic, you should say that. Hold people accountable for their actions, just calling them crazy isnt a disqualifying trait anymore, its seemingly a pre requisite for the other team.

Keep it on the topic of cannabis legalization, if you don’t like him then ignore this thread unless you have a better idea of how to legalize cannabis.

Please don’t turn this thread into a flaming shitshow, be nice and stay ON TOPIC.

Does the executive branch have the power to decriminalize cannabis? Or would that have to go through congress?

I don’t know enough about the guy to know if he’s a homophobe or transphobe, but it took all of ten seconds to find this quote from a few months ago from him:

“There’s a lot of people that said it is not a virus,” Kennedy said. “The virus is a passenger virus, and these people are dying mainly because of poppers. A hundred percent of the people who died in the first thousand [with] AIDS were people who were addicted to poppers, which are known to cause Kaposi sarcoma in rats. And they were people who were part of a gay lifestyle where they were burning the candle at both ends.”

Doesn’t seem good

“In early November, Congressional researchers concluded that, while President Biden cannot directly remove marijuana from control under federal controlled substances laws, he could order executive agencies to consider either moving marijuana to a different schedule so that it could be legally possessed and sold or changing their enforcement approach”.

Lol @Rogue you can keep flagging my posts all you want, this guy is not getting elected unless he ends up as a Trump VP pick. His campaign is laughable, and he would get torn apart by any debate. Discussing his cannabis policy is pointless because he’s not going to ever get a chance to implement it. Also, I like how you think cannabis legalization is an issue that exists in a vacuum, as if candidates don’t have other issues we should judge them on to see if their legalization plans are actually meaningful. RFK Jr stopped being meaningful back around when he lost focus on Riverkeeper and started in on the “vaccines cause autism” train. In a lot of ways we can actually blame RFK for a lot of the current political climate of anti-rationality and anti-science, he’s generally considered a father of the modern anti-vaccine conspiracy cult. Which is to say, perhaps the man’s done more to prevent legalization than he’s done to help it, by making people distrust medicine and science, both of which endorse cannabis use at this point.

RFK skunk? he’s gotta be down with that.

Regardless of anyones stance on politics (which OG has none except the 0 tolerance political talk),
OverGrow does not allow political threads as they cause distention and eventual division and overall breakdown of the community and tend to create quite a few issues…

The US can fall apart all we want with our political division but OverGrow will always remain OverGrow and theres no place here for that here anymore.
