I’m young, but not a baby. I have a kid in highschool. I’ve never rolled my own Js. I have no good reasons for this, dear overgrow reader. Since we’re in a legal state now and my grows are going pretty good, I felt I needed to roll some joints.
I did buy a roller with a little kit, I’ll branch out from here. Ive got to say I’m impressed with the roller!

Rolling a doob by hand, will result in a finger-print like style of your own.
The bud dictates the grind, etc etc, and ps, try rolling right down to the end… Thats all wasted paper lol.

Personally I go for speed and function and don’t care much about perfection. Mrs Foreigner sometimes gives me shit for this but she will also say something like “I need to leave in 5 seconds can you roll me a joint?”
Of course I can. 
I started using glass tips for my joints, I roll them infinitely faster than I use to with paper filters.
I also started with one of those machines, I bought another one not long ago just to mess around with.
Here teenage girls of my generation learned how to roll like champs, without smoking, to be more competitively sexy ^^ And with hash mostly.
I totally vouch the others fools, it’s like buds trimming. By hand it’s not the same thing at all. Get a little pack of “rolling tobacco” and train it blank to get your own style. Filters style also, there is plenty to explore. King size slim, no pain no gain.
I can attest that my rolling skills have made me dangerously sexy.

I married the first able to roll a blunt with a tobacco leaf ^^ Not the main reason, but true fact.
It’s so funny. I remember emptying out cigarettes and packing them with weed when none of us could roll. This was a very long time ago.

shavings from the pencil sharpeners in school the teachers

Not sure I remember anybody tell me that they just rolled their first joint. It made me laugh a little when I think how long it’s been since I rolled my first one.
1971 to be exact. 16 years old. We bought our weed in matchboxes ($5 a box…rip off, lol) and it was a combo of broken sticks, seeds, and a tiny bit of weed in there. We had no idea how bad we were geting ripped off, haa.
I knew a lot of people and eventually ended up running with the crowd of peeps that were dealing and getting good stuff from the older guys.
Wow, it’s been 52 years. I still remember the exact place I smoked for the first time. We had a car load of peeps in some sort of BIG car, and we parked under a huge oak tree out in the middle of some field. Good memories!

My trick was always to leave a valley in the middle of the paper, with More on the ends. Then you know the middle can be overlapped, and you Roll out to the ends…
I use glass tips too. I love ‘em.
I still suck at rolling joints. I can roll a blunt no issues though. I bought an ounce and a case of swishers. Sat down and didn’t get up until I had rolled the whole oz.
That’s hardcore, I can only roll one blunt before I’m sick of tasting the wrap
