Rules for making F2 seeds to trade

While that sucks when we are looking for seeds, looking at it from another perspective, for those guerilla growers who just wanna grow groves, a few male plants that slipped by wouldn’t make many seeds in it… There’s a positive spin to it

Interesting, learn something every day. I didn’t know that. Always had boxers, and that includes two white boxers (not deaf). I know my one pup, Nero, had both fawn parents, and three white pups in his litter. We were told it was because mom was getting older. Dad was Jaquet’s GC Novarese, and mom was Jaquet’s GC Jolie. His brothers and sisters fetched over $2g ea, we got him for the low low price of $250, no papers of course (damn that AKC). Just want a companion, so papers dont matter to me so much. Wanted the temperment…
Current pup is my first non-boxer (boxer x pittie) as I was getting away from the purebred issues like tumors and cancer.

Dude, no worries. Dog breeder isn’t Puppy Mill. I’m sure you have heard of Richard Tomita since you deal with boxers. That’s where my Nero came from, and he treated his dogs like family. Vetted new owners something seriously, and was well respected…

I have rescued 3 boxers. Current boy is also a rescue. But no ill will towards breeders, without them we would not have the dogs we do. I just rescue now though because so many people dont understand the boxers energy level, and put them up for adoption :frowning:

Whoa. Its early but im gonna have to get some popcorn fir this show.

Well so…there’s another reason to grow landraces and proven heirlooms…

Rescue when you can sure but reality is reality and a 95% of the dogs at the shelter are pit bull and mixes with behavioral problems or chihuahua mixes with behavioral probems. I’d rather get a dog from a breeder that isn’t going to attack my child attack another dog than adopt if this is the current state of affairs.

When I walk my dog every other dog walker crosses the street to avoid me…not because I have a large intimidating dog, but because “their dog isn’t good on a leash” or “has issues with other dogs” fuck that lol

Yeah personally like seedlings i like to buy my dogs from breeders. They are much easier to train than rescues.

Oklahoma rescues have dozens of pits tho…thats true.

Around these parts a dog has to be trained well. It goes running off its gonna get eaten by coyotes.

We’ve had a couple wonderful rescue dogs since I was a kid, my current dog is a retired greyhound.

But if you look at any rescue page there is so few options that aren’t pitbull or geriatric dogs. My favorite is when it’s obviously a pitbull but they call it a labrador lol.

Unfortunately thats often the case, another issue are the high energy dogs like german sheperds and border collies…not usually a good apartment dog

I’ve seen rescue pages for most breeds, and its breed specific rescue. For Boxers alone there were 3 or 4 in my area, and I used Boxer Angels Rescue for a few of my pups. They foster them and SERIOUSLY vet prospective owners. Interviews, home inspections, and they have rules, but they are flexible (I don’t have a fenced in yard but they waived that for me since I could prove I’ve had boxers for over 30 years and know their energy level and exercise requirements).

Dogs in many “general” rescues / dog pounds do tend to have some kind of issue. Maybe no other pets, no small children, etc. But many are also there because the owners do not know what they are getting into… My last 4 dogs (3 boxers and a boxer x pittie mix) were all rescues, 2 from B.A.R., and I can honestly say they were / are incredible companions with the right owner. My boys have always been well trained, but I put in the time with them. No kids, so my pup is my only child LOL.

My current pup, Loki, came from a local adoption day after I lost my last boxer. They had another boxer up for adoption, but it was literally adopted and walking out the door when we arrived. We stumbled upon Loki, looks like a nice brindle boxer, just a tad long in the nose, and they said he was a “Boxer X Lab” mix. Also said he was 2 years old. Genetics test shows Boxer X American Staffordshire Terrier , and based on his growth he had left in him, we estimated him to be more like 6-9 months. Boxer Angels Rescue was far more accurate and did 10x the background check on me…

Still, Loki is well tempered, listens to commands and lives a dream life now… (little shit goes under the knife on Tuesday for ACL surgery, that hurts the pocketbook… And consider this… I tore my ATF ligament in Honduras 4 years ago, and I still havent gotten that fixed, but my dog is getting his ACL fixed.) Yeah. Who runs the world??? Dogs do…

The unfortunate truth is that people don’t give up a perfectly good 3 year old dog. I’m sure there is the odd exception, but as a rule.

My last dog was a rescue. He was a good boy, mostly. He couldn’t be left alone, he would mark up the house with pee and he had no patience for children. I imagine a couple got the dog, then had kids, then gave up the dog.

My current dog we got from a breeder and we have been responsible for 100% of his training. He loves everybody and I’ve never heard him growl at anything, ever.

My parents got a rescue many years ago and it worked out very well. The owners were moving away and couldn’t take him. He hid under the couch growling at everyone for 3 days and then came out and was a wonderfully sweet little guy.

So it could go either way.

Sometimes they don’t want to. I had a boxer, Rocco, Gorgeous reverse brindle, perfect health, super well trained. Owner lost her lease, and new apartment wouldn’t allow large dogs. She kept it at the vet she worked at for 6 months while looking for a place that allowed large dogs. Eventually gave up, and thats how I came to adopt him. In his case, the owner did more than most to keep him, but her circumstances weren’t right. That’s not all cases, and as you said, each is different, but I hate to broadly label all shelter dogs / rescues as basket cases or problem pets… Some are there due to their owners misfortune. Some because their owners made mistakes. And some because their owners shouldn’t have gotten a dog to begin with, and now that pup has bad habits…

Agreed. A lot of people don’t know how much work a dog is. It’s ALOT

A lot of people rip on breeders for seeds that “hermed” and although I can empathize with that, most breeders will not continue to sell seed lines with a lot of reports like this. For every one bad report, there’s thousands of good ones. And although no breeder wants even one bad report, the fact is, is that no breeder is immune to them. As far as swerve and cali connection is concerned, I’ve ran his gear several times, and have been happy each time. One in particular, an Alien OG pheno, is one of my elites that I keep in rotation and breed with. I am super impressed with. I personally have never had a bad thing to say about his genetics. Maybe something was off in your grow and stressed it to herm?

There’s shit like this all over the internet. If you don’t know about swerve’s bad rep, then you don’t know.

Hehe no breeder is immune to the bad reports…most of today’s hybrids have been worked for many, many years, some strains carry a recessive herm gene. That Tahoe OG they talk about over on “trollitup” I have grown before and loved it. I have also used his Alien OG genetic (which is exceptional) to breed with and never came across a herm yet. I crossed it with Godfather OG and one pheno I’m working with of that cross carried a intense grape terpene profile, high yielding, great high, I’m currently working on stabilizing this genetic, it’s :fire: :fire: :fire:
