yep, after reading the chloramine it all came back to me.
i appreciate all the input from everyone and now i have some alternatives to take to them and get rid of the roundup.

Salt + ( 50/50 water/vinegar)
Water it in several times til die-off.
Then, to wash away the sodium from the soil, gonna need to water in gypsum numerous times. Plant vetch as a test, but vetch will also help cycle out excess salts left behind.
Rebuild soil with gypsum, glacial rock dusts, and lime.
