School me on octopots!

Hey if any CO peeps are interested in a six pack split let me know been using the wick system and is working great I was leaning towards the 3 gallon version just because of my space. Getting great results in a 1/2 gallon plastic wick so why wouldn’t a 3 gallon work in my situation?
@GMan , @lefthandseeds , @argo945 , @Blowingupjake ? Sorry if I missed any others CO peeps worth a group buy and a meet up somewhere?

I’m thinking one pot maybe right for my 5x5 or maybe two of them. I got them used from the guy who runs octopot for really cheap like 12 for 200. Came with the 13gal grow bags they switched out for the 12. No straps but it would help with cleaning the Rez, I’ve thought of putting a air pump in there to see about oxygenated water for the second root zone. They seem like the way to go as I like to overwater things lol.

I also am running the community grow show trying to give a octopot to someone for growing with me, just gotta complete the grow lol.

gotta love those Michigan companies! Also, nice to support local small businesses. I have been gearing up to switch over to octopots sometime - hopefully soon - I just have to break the perpetual grow cycle I am currently in and retool a bit, but I have been studying this for awhile and have had other friends who have used them with great success.

I grew a tomato plant this summer in one that yielded -16lbs of tomatoes. Not bad for a half ass attempt to see what they could do. I have a feeling that the less I have in the tent the more I’ll get. At least that’s what I’ve noticed.

I love these things it’s improved my yield , and they are easy to use

I’ve tried an air pump but I only let it set for a day so can’t really say if it’s better or not

Yea I think the concept is solid ! And for what I’m doing in just 1/2 gallon wicks I feel their doing rather well IMO here is a fairly recent pic

Week three of flower in a super soil mix plants are drinking like a sailor!

I’m planning on growing a blueberry auto outdoors in an octopot. Hoping to get it done before the summer hits in full force here. I just started the seed yesterday.

I wish I could go in on them but I can’t for now. I was impressed with the guys on Opengrow using them. Jetdro was going to send me one or even more, but he never came through. They seem to be a real efficient way to grow. I love physics. Supposedly it doesn’t need an air stone. The design is supposed to create an oxygen rich environment without the pump.

I never saw anybody get a bad yield with them. I hope I get back to work this year so I can be a consumer again, lol. At least I have all I need for a modest indoor grow the old fashioned way. But, “a set it and forget it” for a week type system sure is appealing.

I love the concept of these pots but I am having a hard time getting around it being right for totally organic soil. During my grow I add nothing. Maybe a top dress during flower… usually not. It seems to me that I need to water down In order to get the most nutrients from my soil.

The soil doesn’t need to be moist in order for nutrients to be used. The rhino sphere does it. So really if you soil isn’t on point than it won’t be good. The water below should create enough moisture and rh to be sufficient to do what is needed.
