Nice plan
As long as there’s space for them, and solo cups are small.
Bonus - during this time you’ll get a lot of practice taking clones & caring for mother plants. That’s gonna be a valuable learning experience. Growth, baby! We’re not just talkin’ about the plants here
I’ve got a few plants that have been in solo cups since April/May. Still in veg too. Honestly I should either up-pot them or at least change out part of the soil. Their roots aren’t too great atm and it’s starting to show in the leaves & slow growth.
A couple months ago I actually cut the roots back on purpose. Seems to help the roots grow when kept in a small container. Nothing too crazy, took my shears and made 4 cuts about 1/2” - 1” deep where the bottom of the cup meets the side, a quarter turn apart from each other. I think this actually kept the roots healthier in the long run. Gonna try a side by side comparison in the future just for fun.
Damn I thought I was paying attention!
Edit: Also meant to mention, have you heard of Bonsai mother plants? It’s a technique that was from an original OG member, from back decades ago. He showed how he kept super tiny mother plants so that he could keep a big variety of strains going.
@douggyfresh420 is the one who tuned me in to this tiny plant technique
Here’s the guide to it. Reposted after the site was relaunched. Originally written by someone who really knew their shit.
