Talks of soil ph with @JoeCrowe has my head spinning! :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Turns put apple cider vinegar is not a good ph down and could be seriously throwing off my soil chemistry since i use it EVERY SINGLE WATERING

Will be using phosphoric acid in veg and flower.
I might buy nitric acid if i find it cheap and use that in veg.

The right kind of acid will increase calcium availability.

Hmmm, interesting. I used ACV one time but I don’t think it caused any issue. Normally my pH comes out around 6.7-6.9 when I mix my nutrients. Sometimes I add a splash of distilled white vinegar as my pH down (ran out of the GH brand pH down - I think it’s mainly citric acid).

@JoeCrowe do you know of any issue with using distilled white vinegar as a pH down?

I wouldn’t use vinegar. The regular acids like phosphoric acid react with the calcium and make it available to the plant. I’m not sure the temporary effect of vinegar will do the same. blah blah blah it’s going to turn into acetate in the soil instead of available nutrients. In my stint with agriculture, I’ve never used vinegar. I use things like sulfur and aluminum sulfate as well as ammonium sulfate. They react with the calcium to lower the ph with sulfates, bringing my soil down from ph 6.8 to 5.5.
PH means potential of hydrogen.

Well a good living soil is self regulating and the need of ph adjustments shouldn’t be nessesary. So the need of adjusting pH will only be needed if you’re dealing with soil that initially isn’t healthy.

Personally I have never used bottled organic nutrients because it defeat the whole purpose of running organic and if I was forced to use bottled nuts I would rather run synganics or go full synthetic with coco.

Currently running roots organic original which is pretty bare bones and i wouldnt consider it healthy soil haha. I will be amending it in the future to create living soil. Thanks for linking that vid ill be sure to check that out today.

Watered today using GH ph down
2 cups each, on day 2 they start to droop heavyyyy until you hit them with those 2 cups haha!

I backed off the feed due to burnt tips, ill be back on it once new growth has no burns.

I just ordered a 20lb bag of castings. Gonna try my hand at amending some roots original in the very near future.

The wolf caps and producing some stankkkkkkkk!!! Also they are little tiny buds compared to the gelatos l.

I added a big scoop of worm castings to each pot in flower before i watered in.

Also 10 cups every 3 days is not enough. I now put 10 cups in the 3gal pot and i put around 8 cups in the bottom 5 gal pot to soak up. I noticed the 5gal had been mostly dry all this time. Opps
