If you need to apply diatomaceous earth to areas where dry DE won’t stick, the wet application method is a great option. Mix the two at a ratio of four tablespoons of DE per gallon of water and apply in a thick coat to tough spots, like the tops and undersides of your plants.
You can also use a wet mixture of [DE as a cleaner]
In this case we are using it to kill bugs, that occurs because they are like little crystals that rippens the soft bodies of larvae, gnats, slugs and snails, so they get dehydrated and die, when wet it doesn’t harm them at all …
We also use a tbls in our morning coffee. Been doing that for decades (just in one cup of the coffee, lol not every cup) it’s good for so many things! Dust the pets with it kill fleas/ticks, dust the plants to help hold down pests, etc
Roots sticking out of the bag was all I needed to get the next step ready.
And Fungus Gnats led to the soil being capped with Sand in the 3/4 gal pots.
That move made bottom feeding a must for the short term.
*For the record. 7 plants at a time, sat in 3 Litres of water. After 10 minutes they had absorbed 2.2 litres of water.
Approx 314ml per plant, and the substrate remains mid-Moist this morning. That my first Watering, from below
And the Ladies look Golden this A.M., the 13th
Fyi the sand used, has Not impacted the breathability of the 15 plants. It was simply called PLAYGROUND sand.
**There have been zero bugs since applying an inch to the pots n bags. Moisture meter goes through easily, smooth the hole over.
Thanks for suggesting the Bottom-Feed @George, drew up a simple test-run (5 min vs 10 min etc. measured what was left. Great starting point and its worked beautifully.
There may have been a little Fish Hydrolysate in the Pans of Water. Not sure how that happened
4’ Tent goes up Tomorrow; Thanks again @MarsHydro. She is Live on Friday ! Just in time for the shit to hit the Fan week 3; Monday
Lites out planned for the end of week 3; sex-show reveal being attempted for the long-haulers next weekend
Salute @George, you know within a day or two if your fixes are correct or even close… and thats what I’m learning to love. Thanks again for mentioning the btm-feed.
And doing nothing sometimes still rocks.
I was nervous the first 3 hours after making the sand-castles. They (the Plants) look pretty damn pert today!
Btm-feed took that fear away, seeing how well they drank!
