Sexing in veg, savants and veterans please post up!

I don’t veg for long periods except for the rare occasion that i flower a mother.
Clones get 2 weeks veg (after rooting), feminized seed 4-5 weeks and i flip them, with photo period i flip them really young 10/14 days, yeild isn’t my primary concern i intend to clone them and grow them properly the next time around, that said I’ve had some better results from extremely short veg in comparison to some with 4-5 weeks.
I also count the 1st 3-4 weeks 12-12 as vegging.

On this occasion 4x males :frowning:

Iirc 18/21 days before they stared to reveal their sex.

It’s a girl!

After the plant grows a few weeks above the 4th and 5th node Males tend to grow branches directly opposite on the stalk like a cross. Females seem to grow branches stutter stacked. Males tend to be the tall fast growers but not every time.

It’s so easy to get fooled

All 5 plants showed preflowers 4 confirmed with hairs showing the 5 th did not confirm but I was sooo sure it was a she , well guess what , she became a he and took a walk on the wild side lol
Right to the trash bin

I wait till I see hairs before I choose any longer

It’s worth the wait

I remember posting this when I had decided that both of my NL1 x Kali Mist freebies were girls. So optimistic!

So I up-pot them, get them situated in the big show tent, flip to 12/12, get them fed. Come back the next day and I swear, just full on raging boy parts all over the place. I am the opposite of a savant chicken sexer; I literally pick worse than 50/50 coin flip odds.

I know this is from an old post but could you explain this better ? What is a leaf bract?

In this image of a male plant, the bracts are on the outside and look like the tips of leaves. The male part is nestled in the core.

diagram of the image above.
Females are more like this

No leaf bracts present near the bud.

Female seeds most of the time have a volcano where it was attached male not so much some laugh but 7-10 more than not isn’t bad better than a lab imo

That’s phrenology for seeds.

I’ve noticed that, too. It’s so frustrating when you have a really vigorous grower that gets larger than the others in less time, only to turn out male. On the other hand, large, vigorous and fast-growing males make good studs.

Any guesses? Think you can blow that image up quite a bit…

You can’t see anything. It’ll be at the node behind those bracts.

Hello all, I’m new to regular seeds and was hoping someone could help me out.
This is the best photo of many.

I’m not certain but i think its male, I can’t see properly but if that something is on a stalk it’s definitely a male.

Thanks so much for your help! I better start some more seeds :grimacing:

Zoom on the node between your index and middle finger, looks female to me.

Agree with the others, it looks male. Give it a few more days and it will stick out like the proverbial dogs balls.

Looks female to me… wide base, getting narrower at the top. Males have a narrow base and the flower expands outward at the end of the stalk. Still not all that well developed though, I wouldn’t be 100% certain until seeing pistils. I’ve been fooled before, this looked like a nice female to me too. :stuck_out_tongue:
