sorry…chars

hey that reminds me… has anyone actually hatched a theory to do with the root mass? I had a couple that never panned out - they include doozies like “the more roots the more buds” or “more roots can take less/more nutrients” Those are just two prime examples of hypothesis I had that the data eventually trashed. I mean, really the root mass is genetic like so many other parts of the plants physiology… but is it linked to something else about the plant or is it just like “I have one hand larger than the other” kind of thing aka just something that happens?

I’m reminded of the grams per watt theory and discussions.

Root mass.
Another variable for yield calculations!

Lol

well that’s the thing. Root mass can’t be tied to yield, according to the data. I was just wondering if it’s linked to anything at all?

well shit, I went and got out the studies on root zone oxygen saturation. Turns out the larger root mass absorbs more oxygen and should absorb more nutrients as well. I guess I could do a study to see if the data matches.

sorry…chars

nope… leaving it this way…this is under 12/12 right from cutting and the mother is reversed as to make it into feminized seeds. so farr so good. So much air. algae wont matter . fun to watch.

Very surprising. I always thought the roots needed the darkness. Do you run a sterile res? Or should I say sterile bucket? :slight_smile:

Water is agitated so fast. By the time algae forms the clones have served their purpose. Everyone remembers a grandmother with a kitchen window sill full of plants in Mason jars full of roots. Imagine if she had heard of a jet pump…lol. c- mon people we aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel.

is there nutrient in that water? If so, that can be dangerous to the plant. If not, it should be fine. When the algae blooms it robs the water of oxygen.

Ah ok, only during the cloning stage. I thought you were vegging it out in there :slight_smile:

Here’s a shot of some Kandy Kush roots in a 17 gallon Rubbermaid tote, from days gone by;

3 more weeks and this girl has served her purpose…Feminized seeds. …I love how it’s making new roots away from the algae. M.J. is a resilient plant.
