Smokenhike Grows Again

Good idea, maybe with some misting to keep humidity up. Was going for LITFA, just throw them in the bags and wait for roots.

I did a similar thing before with freezer ziplocks and peat pods with very good results.

That was on day 8. The bubble cloner never goes that fast.

8 days!?!
Dang! Those roots!! :exploding_head: :+1:

That’s impressive.

No action on the ziplock clones yet.

So this was interesting. There’s snow on the ground. These have been in the composter in the dark for 2 weeks and they look better now than when they went in there

Guess I’ll just grow out of the composter from now on.

2 NL phenos.

G13HPs are small, but they look really nice.

Week 3F, top dressing time. 2tbs/gal 50/50 mix of Gaia 4-4-4 and 2-8-4. 2tbs castings. 1tbs backyard compost (may regret later, no bad bugs plz).

Watered in some goodies from Optimize Organics. They have some cool stuff.

G13s front left.

Tall NL

Flipping NL males today. There was a third that autoflowered :scissors:

3/4 of the ziplock clones are showing roots.

The NL males are looking pretty.

Yeah not too shabby. They’re liking the black Friday Mars FC-E3000 I got for the 3x3, against better judgement.

All but one of the ziplock clones rooted. The slower ones started to rot up top including my favorite NL, but I have at least one of everything else. Look at these little guys.

So I’ll take another shot at the favorite. Could be good for 2023 outdoor, very low odor.

Decided the bushy NLs were too wide and sparse and not going to yield, so :scissors: :scissors:

If the males ever get around to flowering I’ll put a bag over the tops of the ladies then let them mingle for a bit. Hopefully I can get some sensi-ish tops and a bunch of seeds down below.

Whoa, i have never seen clones taken in a ziplock before…
I definitely wanna try this method…
Root and humidity dome in a single bag, count me in :heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

Your plants looks amazing as usual brother… :green_heart::green_heart::green_heart:

Thanks! It was interesting but dunno if I’d do it again, the clones are pretty weak they had to be small to fit in the bags. A clear solo cup with a bag and rubber band on top would work better I think.

Ziplock clones are doing alright now, had to baby them.

Males could pop any time.

Screw it, I’ll just seed the whole crop.

G13, this one smells like sour candy.

NL, funky spiky thing, some pistils turning on one, end of week 4.

Bonus pics… canoeing.

Good smoke spot.

Plants look great, and that looks like a very nice canoe trip! :slightly_smiling_face:

It was a good trip. Might get another paddle in at Christmas if the ice holds off.

Spiky NL pistils turned really early. This is at 34F, rest of the plants are still mostly white.

Waited too long to flip the males, but it should be ok. 1-2 weeks offset would be better than 3 next time.

My allergies are going crazy just looking at those males!
Looks like you are in for a pollen storm soon! :tornado:

@smokenhike the plants look amazing! :star_struck:
The G13HP x NL beans you’re making are gonna be legendary!! (DIBS! LOL)

I haven’t been on a canoe in over a decade, I miss it. Nothing like the feeling of being out on the water. Great pics.

I took down the males today, pollen storm indeed. Tried to save some to hit the solo cups in a couple weeks.

Advance dibs eh ? Deal. Should be lots of G13 x NL to go around by the look of things. 38F.

I think this one got enough pollen…

NL buds are kinda weird, smells piney.

Thanks for the support guys.

It’s 48F, made it back from Christmas holidays in decent shape. Plants did anyway… I might have to buy bigger pants.

Not a ton of seeds on the NLs, pistils were too far gone by the time males moved in. Lots of frost but pretty leafy, old school let’s call it

.

G13s have tons of seeds and the buds look fantastic.

Would be nice if the cross turns out NL structure with G13 buds :crossed_fingers:

Some outdoor my Mom grew from a cutting. Pretty stony, think it’s Alien OG ?

Solos got dusted with NL pollen. This Coco E&F + Maxi is one of the easiest grows I’ve done. Just keeping the res topped up with 1tsp Maxi and 1g each epsom & gypsum per gal. Flooding every 6 hours, PH maybe once a week but it settles around 6.2-6.3 anyway.

Hope everyone’s holidays are going well. Thanks for stopping by.

Plants are looking wonderful!
Good idea with the mask, cannabis pollen kills me.

Thanks! It does get pretty dusty in there with the pollen and Gaia top dressing.

53F looking a bit rough, just waiting for seeds to mature.

Most of the NL seeds are sticking out of the pods pretty far. Big beans, maybe 1/8th of the calyxes took.

Odd buds on the NL, thought it was something I did. But they look similar to the pic below from the PeakSeedsBC website.

G13HP, much better pollination on these.

Thinking about what to do next, decisions decisions… I want something sativa-ish for summer smoking but with a reasonable flower time.

1 gallon coco is sounding good for some reason. Been thinking about giving Botanicare a whirl @Foreigner style too.
