Around the holidays, I seem to always wax nostalgic. I sometimes even think of plants I grew and enjoyed from years ago.
So I have been looking through some of my shots from the early digital era.
Prior to digital cameras I only used a Polaroid.
This is Serious Seeds AK 47 from circa 2003.
ProMixBX amended with perlite, vermiculite and dolomite lime.
Jack’s Classic Dynamic Duo nutrients.
This is one of the weirdest grows I ever did. Around ‘03 ‘04, I was in NJ, providing protracted assistance to my little sister who was involved in a terrible domestic quagmire.
I was staying at her house, and because of the situation, the only feasible grow was extreme stealth. (my sis grows…she was only one who knew)
I knew a grower who made a cross he thought had great potential, he called it Roadtrip.
So, I had to keep the plants tiny, they had to go outdoors, but I started In late March way before last frost. I planned to flower after about a week of veg. For dark I put them under a large corrugated box with heavy blanket over it for 12 hrs.
I had to play Ninja, moving the plants in and out of the house every day. I started some basil plants at the same time as a
ruse. It worked, as they never knew.
Apollo 11 G4 Reservoir Seeds circa '02-'04… I think…I grew this one many times, the shorter more indica looking pheno/genos were some of my favorite smoke ever.
Yes, I really enjoyed AK 47 back then!
And Serious had that nice geno which always reminded me of cherry flavored cough
syrup.
Alas, she is yet another girl I should have held on to.
Hindsight is always spooky.
Well this is one of my favorite girls. She was a delightful surprise which resulted from my crossing my favorite WYD girl with a nice, vigorous NLxHaze dude.
I started three seeds in this window box. I typically never do this. But I also knew that I might only end up with one girl…that’s what happened.
I wanted to keep plant easy to carry, so I tied it down to the stump of one of the males I cut down.
This cross was delightful to grow and smoke…another sad coulda shoulda.
Alot of classics! I used to run Apollo G4 from reservoir too, some of my favorite weed ever. I had 2 seeds left that I tried to sprout a while ago but sadly neither took…
Thanks @Tinytuttle
The largest containers in these pics is 3 gallon. I move my container plants throughout the
day in order to receive as much direct sunlight as possible. I also move them to shelter
if nasty trichome ravaging weather is approaching.
Nowadays, I seldom use any larger than 2 gallons.
I sacrifice yield for portability.
Impressive plant size for 3 gallon for sure!
Ya I found my self bringing my plants on my 2017 grow for those really cold nights in late Sept to early October !
