Sure, having a cushion is nice… the true benefit is knowing you can’t fall too hard, you can no longer be a door mat. Speak your mind, be bold.
Tip #2 is to add your children as secondary card holders on your credit card, so when they get one of their own they’ll already have a good score

Also great for bad surprises like - bang, your kid has been whacked in a bad accident and has 2 broken legs and an arm.
You are not reliant on the insurance companies to approve and cover wheelchairs, braces, porta-potties etc. You just do it and get the money back later…
