Spaceman's Zamaldelica Grow

i have found out how close the moon is to the earth makes a difference also

I get some shit from a few “science” based posters here for my interest in such things but what does science know?

It doesn’t even know what light is.
A photon has no mass and moves in a waveform but it has an electro-magnetic field so it’s neither energy or matter.
It slows down when it passes through glass but gets back up to speed instantly when it exits.
Huh?

Sad update.

I pulled my plants out of the tent and gave them a once over.
Had to move a ton of stuff (literally) to get at them.

Zam 3 hermied on me, I counted about 14 male flowers and snipped them but several had popped.
So this seed run just sprained an ankle.

This leaves me with Zam 1 who is all girl and sporting some swollen calyx’s.

Now the male is shooting off like fireworks and it leaves me wondering how many of the seeds forming have been hit by the hermie?
The fan may have worked against me here and spread hermie pollen throughout the tent.
Plus I still have the clones of Zam 1 and am planning on pollen collection soon.

I am still going to let this run its course but this is not what I was counting on.
Does anyone know if the viability of hermie pollen is equal to true male pollen?

That’s sad.

For all intents and purposes, yeah. If you can save a bunch of pollen and run your true female again you’ll save yourself a ton of heartbreak in the future.

@Worcestershire_Farms
That’s what i’ve reconciled myself to do.
Save as much pollen as possible and hope for the clones to take.
I’ve pulled the Zam 1 clones out of the water, did a tiny stem scrape (3 mm) and used OTC rooting hormone, which I did not have when I took them.

Update.
Tried to tap out some pollen from Zam male yesterday, lots of spent flowers, no discernible pollen.

Got a few snaps of a remote, outdoor grow, PH/LM from upthread.
Just about topping their screen plants, I’ve asked their caretaker to top them when they do.

The other pot.

Not really observable unless seen from the angle shot at.

I’ll post up a pic later of Zam 3, the hermie.
Getting 16 hrs of natural daylight, with about 7 hrs direct.

Man, whatever happened with this grow?

Ever get any good seeds out of it?

Nope.
Somehow my carefully stored (insulated container inside an overhead freezer) became slush from condensation.
The other two seeds produced another female and hermie.
Still have a clone from the original female and the other female is at a location I rarely visit.
Still on the lookout for Zamaldelica seeds.

Well maybe you could self the female you have?

"“Self”?
You mean forcing it to produce male flowers?
At some point I’ll have to try that, though I prefer regular seed for the surprise of a natural variation.
Once I get some more clones that is.
This plant is difficult for me to clone…I took this one in January, almost two months to root.
Almost as long as cloning chacruna (p.viridis)

Right now I’m hoping she’ll make a great mom.

Yeah that’s what I meant, I didn’t know/remember you could get more clones…

If you ever make any seeds, I’d gladly trade you something for some :grinning:

Looks like I was hasty in declaring the male hermie,
I’ve been away from this grow for several weeks and found out what I thought were pistils are really teeny, tiny stipules.
It’s uncommon for males to herm and I thought I got hit with the unlucky stick.
Took some pics but they’re blurry and the tents are dark now.
Try to get some posted tomorrow.

Anyway past time for an update.

As I posted on another thread, this is a clone of a clone of a regular seed female Zam 1 from above.

Here’s Mom.

Mom doing the dirty with a much younger male.

Now my question to the community is I scammed some pollen 2 days ago from the stud and want to know if I should dust a branch or two of the grandkid?

Also I want to top her and try cloning it.

Get you some seeds!

So I’ve decided to take 2 clones both from lower branches.
@ReikoX
One before dusting a branch, one after.
One is going into the electrostatic field generator (EFG) from my first thread here
One will be alonside.
Zam is a tough lady to clone, be back later w/pics.

Ok so I chickened out on my immediate plans to take clones, lol.

So instead I mixed a little cloning powder with lanolin and shmooied it on a lower branch.
In 7-10 days I’ll clip it off and put her in medium.

New home for her too, 1.5 gal airpot.

Time for an update.

Here she is, simple LST.
Early signs of Mag lock out due to high ph.
I did a sulfur powder tea and gave her a quick soak.

My compost was finished a year ago and I had it stored in vented plastic drums and under cover.
Retroactively, it reads high 7.5 ph, something I hadn’t expected or encountered before.
And that’s why I didn’t use any peat in my mix.
Usually reads 6-6.5.
Is it possible the long storage could have mineralized it somehow?

Branch on left may require separate restraint, bottom is gelled future clone.

Here is another grow, courtesy of Worcestershire_Farms aka Diggy Soze who is a good breeder and solid trader despite our apparent unsolvable differences.
“Have been calling the Kashmir x Mango Thai cross Iron Maiden, and the Vietnam Black x Mango Thai cross, Mekong Phaya, after the Loch Ness Monster type creatures, the Phaya Naga, that are rumored to live in the Mekong River.”

So far 3 IM’s to 2 MP’s which were the first to charge outta the coat.
Planted 2 more MP’s, it’d be nice to have 3 + 3 for this grow.

Ooops forgot to add 4 Zamaldelica F1’s from last summer’s near disaster.
These were very likely pollinated after I pulled the herm.
My reasoning here is these Zams stretched a 1/3 after, top bud seeds collected separately and conservatively.
All other seed collected has gone into a bottle marked “potential hermies- Zamaldelica 2020”
Anyone make a SST of them?

Loco Heart today,

16-18" tall the cage can be replaced as she is in a $20 walmart party tub.
Actually has a vented floor 1" above a 2 gal water reservoir.

Here’s my current Zam grow(the 4 in the above pic)
The girls,

The guys,

They were up-potted yesterday from 4"x4"x5" pots,
Males in 1 gallon pots, females in 2 gallon pots.

Here’s the set up,

This next plant is 2nd gen clone from seed my trading partner sent.

8 weeks in flower. Best pic I have atm.

The sticky, piney mass on the left is the main cola in simple LST.

I’ll pull her from the tent tomorrow, get a look at her in daylight

Well I f*d’up.
Took that ole Zam outta the tent today And before I realized what I was doing, half the plant was in the dehydrator.
She has old flowers on her but I’m gonna try for some more seed, pollen donated by my two males.

A peek in the boudoir,
