Personally I’ve never had luck with pepper seeds. I can get them to germinate but then they remain an inch tall for 6 weeks.
When they finally take off, there’s not enough time left in the season to get mature peppers.
What I do now is go to my local garden center in May. They have a great selection of superhots all about 6 inches tall. Some already starting to form pods.
For $5 each I pick up 5 or 6 plants.
By the end of August I have 5 ft bushes with peppers ready to harvest in September.
For me it’s worth the 40 bucks to have so many peppers that I have to give some away.
Last year I dehydrated a bunch and ground them into powder.
I’ll post some pepper plant photos next month when I pick them up.
