It’s all media hype and propaganda. The only expensive food is the organic plant based non gmo heirloom small batch pumpkins.

Plus big ag uses no till now anyway. They are decades ahead of what the media tells you.

Agreed. It is sounding an awful lot like late night adirol ranting or something. @Joshj no offense but as someone with an extensive farming background it is clear you believe you know what you are now going on about , but you do not.

Peace I’m out of this thread

I was really pointing out the inacurracy of your financial assessment of the agriculture world and world commodities as a whole. Oh and FYI I don’t use drugs and am very rich.

thanks again for your wisdom

To the OP, Bean Basement is set up, like your seeking. Well once you run a complete start to finish thread, in Put Up Or Shut Up, that is when you get into the full forum.
In there is a section to a list of breeders, some do seek testers, some display their work that is up coming. The site was set up by Capulator, of the MAC franchise.
I did enjoy being able to converse with the breeder, who’s strains I was running.
The differences between here and there, is the difference between, shopping for vegetables at big box food store, to stopping by a garden vegetable stand in someone’s yard.
I like having both sites, myself. I come here for a more friendly atmosphere, a more local garden feel to it.
I myself, do not participate in the free seeds, promotions myself. I would much rather give someone that is struggleing to make meds, if they or a loved one needs them.
I like to give my excess (beans) away, should I have any, to people that show what was gifted to them. Not to pat me on the back, but I’ve watched so many get free seeds then to evaporate into the void, only to hear later on they did not, care for them properly, or really did not need the offering, but wanted it.
I love this site due to folks that do give out their excess beans as a system is in place, that Joe and the members here have created.
To me it’s all here now, as breeders can pony up some cash for advertising access. Should they ask a grower to run their gear, then the grower should do so, ASAP, IMHO.

What I enjoy about overgrow since being here is the professional attitude. The other sites are geared more toward “fan” interaction. Here it is more about the product and than the process. Which is why I feel that a sub forum specifically for breeders and strain banks would be such a good fit.

It really isn’t…

I am of the opinion that breeders are going to have to start paying people to run their gear and do their “testing” for them if they want to get the word out on whatever pricey beans they’re pushing. That is, if they haven’t started already. Free beans ain’t enough anymore, IMO. Further, the kind of people who just do it for a few free seeds don’t usually have the skills to make it look good.

I have had 2-3 strangers on IG and here ask me to grow their hype beans and I’m like…cash up front lol.

Granted, I wouldn’t mind for a friend or if the seeds are something I’m very interested in to begin with.

I really feel that thee whole market is exploding. I can’t see that the global population is very fond of illegal weed and the cost to police it when hemp is legal basically everywhere. I mean it seems like more of a joke. You may be right that breeders will start sponsoring grows…but imo that would take away from the authenticity of it.

You could argue that a sponsored grower is less likely to be honest about his experience, sure.

Im just wondering about the whole process. From my perspective I don’t see, no offense, how someone getting paid could achieve the best looking results. I feel that they would get distracted, no matter how good the grower, and the strain would be underrepresented. They wouldn’t have the motivation to grow the best plant possible if they were getting paid.

IDK, if someone paid me good money to grow their shit I’d do it right.

Most of the “tester” grows I see are by novices.

I’m just saying that when the motivation isn’t great pot, the result might not be great pot. Also you have to take into account mood in a public forum. I’m kinda tired and had to edit this hope I’m making sense…

We want to include the public as much as possible. Not just have some forum celebrity growing out strains for a breeder.
