the motivation for OG is to make and pass along seeds. It is anti-commercial in many ways. This a cancel culture movement if you want to label us that way. Maybe even a cult lol.
To pay large sums of money is the commercial perspective. You want to turn it into a seedbank look a like. GGG comes to mind. So we give them a space to sell their gear and steer them our base?
I like the idea of cataloging work and strains. I can see that it would be easier to set up the money train that way. I like pointing back to those that have earned it with credible work results. It will evolveā¦but I am not sure I am a fan of steering in that direction.
A) Why would I intentionally grow crappy weed, paid or not? Itās not like you donāt get to enjoy the harvest either way, keeper or no. I find something interesting to like about the plants in every line.
B) Most of the public canāt grow very well. Iād rather have someone with skills and means to grow than some newbie with an underpowered Amazon blurple in a spare closet who pops beans 1 at a time.
@vernal makes good points. A pro grower is not someone who is gonna run your testers for funsies. And they have the resources to overcome obstacles that small personal growers find insurmountableā¦like 150 plant limits.
I really wasnāt suggesting it as a source of incomeā¦Iām rich I start businesses and corporations, not looking for an income stream . My suggestion was meant to be seen as a form of community involvement.
It should be seen as just and only that. As a way for breeders and growers/hobbiests to interact doing what they love.
Thereās 1000 new crosses being released every month it seems. Many are expensive. It is difficult to stand out in the market and move expensive packs without hype behind you. Far more stuff is released than is grown out. Is what it is.
When I see test grows, the plants usually lookā¦bad lol. Like they have 4 different things going and they all look the same. It seems when people say āfully testedā they mean āthe 1 female that was grown managed to not throw a lot of ballsā. Itās a weird informal system we have in place and kind of dumb to begin with. I do not care about ātestingā or pretty pictures, I buy or trade for the lines I am interested in growing.
@Joshj I find those that boast about their wealth usually donāt have any. Outside of rapper culture itās seen as very low-class.
Oh and as far as bragging goes, I wasnāt I was being facetious(sp). But, I am a multi billionaire, super computer whiz, oscar winner, hugo winner, owner of a franchise of over 2000 chicken restaurants. And have multiple big screen films with Tom cruise (his cousins always giving me a hard timeš). You want more mate? I got more.
Wowā¦ I was reading through this thread thinking āyea this idea kinda sucks, sounds like heās trying to commercialize OGā then I get to the end where you start bragging about how rich you are .
It solidifies my previous opinions of you. Use your big money to start your own site with royalties n b.s
no thanks if I want to be an ass about it Iād just say that Iām using this site as a platform for MJ legalization. You are just, stuck in the middle.
But on that topic I would like to be the head or sfo of a global MJ farming collective. If you read through some of my post I have a fairly straightforward outline. As to profit? If say I would make about 70 billion a year, but all from investment activitiesā¦read my posts youāll see. The farming collective really wouldnāt be paying me anything. Plus we would all get to be in a movie, drink bear and eat lots o fried chicken.
