SSDD F2s, bx’s, and crosses

It is, and while that’s true, I’m months away from this medicine being ready.

I potted up the known females and sprayed all with JADAM wetting agent (JWA) and Spinosad. There was some evidence of thrips.

I’ll switch to 12/12 tomorrow probably. I think it’s gonna be tight even after culling the males. We’ll see.

Can’t seem to get rid of what looks like magnesium deficiency, so I stopped trying to.

Thanks for looking.

Are some of those manifolds or just topped and lst? They look amazing and the canopies are really nice and even.

I like the way the TS x SSDDs are looking. Very interested in that one personally as well just incase TS becomes lost, was the only seeds I made with that one… Hope you find something worth the time/space in something there!

Just a quick manifold/mainline using the method from growweedeasy (I think). Let them grow to 6 nodes, top to #3 and cut everything below. Let each side grow out 4 nodes. Then cut each to #3, keeping only nodes 1 and 3. Tie them down a long the way (that part I kind of slacked on). Should get 8 good colas from each plant.

I thought it looked like manifold set up. I grew a original Afghani 1970’s using manifold and one just topping and lst. Manifold produced more and better buds. Looks good have you tried it before? I saw nugbucketz tutorial and it was deep for me but then same article you did at growweedeasy. I love that site for info! Plants are looking good and good luck it should work well for this cross.

Yeah, I’ve done it a couple times before. I’ll see if I can find one of the previous plants that it worked really well on.

These are the ones that it worked best for me on. I took my time training them.

Oh ya those are nice. It makes for easy training and trimming once shape is set. I see you left the big inside fan leaves.

Yeah, probably should have removed them. I just didn’t know.

I like the way they look too. The first one is definitely female. The second is probably male. I think the third is female.

They are the most vigorous of the lot. They didn’t like being tied down. They only want to go one direction UP !

A few days into flower.

I still don’t know about 2, 3, 5, 10, and 11. Most now seem male to me. :man_shrugging:

All the clones had roots except #3.

I potted them up, leaving out 10 and 11 because they’re both male and I don’t have room for them anyway.

#5 is male, and it’s the only one of the F2s and F2 bx1’s, so maybe after the bud run I’ll do a small pollination. Not sure though.

A week and a half into flower and I can finally say what genders they are.

Top row is TS x SSDD
1 female (tallest plant in the tent)
2 male
3 male

The two on the far right are SSDD F2 bx1 x (OG Chem x CJ)
10 male
11 male

The stuff in the middle is F2s.
4 female
5 male
6 female
7 female

Front row closest to the camera are the SSDD F2 bx1
8 female
9 female

Tomorrow or Wednesday I’ll take individual pics of the males before I cull them. (I have clones of 2 and 5, and hoping 3 has roots by now just incase).

Thanks for dropping in.

The males. All have been culled:

TS x SSDD

SSDD F2

SSDD F2 bx1 x (OG Chem x CJ)

#3 (TS x SSDD) didn’t root, but I have a clone of #2 and one of #5 (SSDD F2)

Now the girls have more room in the tent. Much easier to water.

All your plants look great! Very healthy and dark green.
I takes me much longer to dial-in a strain so i’ll be watching to learn a thing or two.

Thanks. I’m far from knowledgeable about this plant, but I will say that it seemed like these required an unbelievable amount of calcium and magnesium. I added dolomite lime several times early in veg and even calimagic cal/mag because the lime is slower acting. I even did a foliar Epsom spray.

Could be that my well water pH was off or that this iteration of my super soil is out of whack. I never figured it out.

Just before switching to flower I added my flower mix of mostly alfalfa, kelp meal, karanja, and a few other things. The base soil already has rock phosphate and greensand. Even still, I bet I have a few issues later in flower because of the smaller pots.

Anyway, you didn’t ask about all that, but there it is…

Looking good as usual man!

Great job bud! Things are looking good. I wish you would have gotten a girl out of the SSDD X OGC/CJ. People might be sleeping on that cross. All plants I’ve seen grown of it have turned out really nice. Maybe next time.

Btw that #10 boy was looking awfully studly! I’ll probably look through a bunch next year to find a nice boy or two.

Thanks for running them and if you ever want any of the crosses I’ve done just let me know. @middleman
