SSDD F2s, bx’s, and crosses

I’m out of likes again  but I appreciate the trouble  Citrus is good! Hopefully she reeks by chopping time. The TK is incredibly complex, but non of it is gas/fuel/diesel either.

Somewhere around Day 70.

I was gonna chop all but that TS x SSDD because I really need the tent space for the Neroli 91. Looking at the trichomes, I decided I better let them go another week.

Awhile back, while trying to figure out what I was gonna do with the clones I had taken, I decided to make increase with the Triple Sunshine A x SSDD.

I only had the one female (#1), seen above, and the one male that rooted (#2). The #2 was more vigorous and I think more closely matches the female anyway.

This is where they are now:

@HolyAngel, without being able to give you any stem rub smells (ha), any thoughts on that male? I know it’s probably hard to say.

Here’s pics of him from above:

He’s the tallest one on the left in that last pic

Appreciate the tag! These are from the Triple Sunshine x SSDD F2’s right?

Honestly :face_with_monocle: Both the girl and the boy look like SSDD leaners to me
For the Girl:
The big fat stem is 100% a bubba kush trait.
The leaf morphology is pretty close to my SSDD F2 #1 girl

Looks like she might have a couple TK traits though in the way the flowers are looking  but not positive…

For the Male:
He’s also got the big fat Bubba Kush stem
The leaf morphology here looks like a lot of the SSDD F1 plants I’ve seen, Bubba/Appy looking leaves.
I don’t really see any TK traits in him at all from here :telescope:
Looks like a nice male tho regardless! Nice flower density there ^^

TK has a woody type smelling stem rub and its not a strong scent either. Like damp wood or something. Light cedar maybe

If you’re wondering if I would’ve kept that male, or any of the others pictured there; If I was looking for TK leaners out of those males to make F3’s with, I personally would’ve tossed them all. But that’s also why I’m two years and 100+ beans into the SSDD line and still have zero males to show for it  Doesn’t mean the other’s aren’t dank tho  so you do you bro

TS A mom - was taking pictures of everything else, figured I should take one of the TS to post here.

Yeah your mom there in comparison looks TK AF.

Your TS-A has better side branching than the TK does tho.

Thanks for the detailed response. You continue to impress me.

Well these are from @syzygy, and it was a cross of his Triple Sunshine (A) and his SSDD (F1) male, as far as I know. So, not F2s. The seeds will be “F2s” of sorts…

Same one as/clone of this one:

That’s mostly what I was wondering.

That’s good info. Thank you.

No, I wasn’t wondering that. I figured you would not have. I did just because I had a the clones and I had the 2x4 in an out building. Figured, why not?

I also put the clones of the two SSDD F2 bx1’s in there with him, so there should be a few seeds from them as well.

Oh! Okay, so it’s (TK x SSDD) x SSDD then?

That would explain the heavy SSDD and Bubba traits in those plants then

:100: Good thinking

Yes it is my Trip Sun A mother x that stout SSDD #1 male from my thread. (Tk x SSDD) x SSDD

Yep, to the the best of my knowledge.

They are much taller and more vigorous than the other SSDD plants I have going though.

The double up on the SSDD genes could be bringing out more Appy traits  Obviously seeing more Bubba traits already but all the SSDD F1 Appalachia leaners were straight beasts and some of the most vigorous plants I’ve ever grown. Huge, bigger than dinner plate leaves, and a lot of stretch just in veg alone. Of course, you could also be seeing the TK shining through in those too but I can’t say I can visibly see/smell it from here  but her offspring are stretchy vigorous plants as well so it all makes sense ^^

Chopping a few today. Starting with the SSDD F2 bx1’s. About day 73.

#8:

She has mostly a sweet smell, probably blueberry, maybe another type of berry. Background is gassy, but not overpowering. The berry smell definitely dominates.

#9:

She has less smell overall. No sweetness. Maybe a hint of gas. Can’t really describe the predominant smell. At one point I would have said Play-do, but maybe that’s the sour butter?

Taking a break for now, I’ll do one or two more in a bit…

Ooh they came out nice! Looks like a good yield too! Sadness on the less smell overall but definitely interested to hear how they smoke when you get to them ^^

Thanks guys.

Two more to show. These are SSDD F2s

#4:

Despite the “Bubba” look, there is unfortunately no coffee or chocolate or caramel. This one is all gassy or chemical cleaner smell.

#6:

I’ve said several times how bad I am with smells. One smell that I can actually identify is petrichor. That is primarily what this plant is giving me, with a faintness of gas if I put my nose right up to it. At a distance I get a slight hint of citrus (I think). In any event, this plant was a pain in the ass. Everything below the tops of the main colas is all leaves.

I have one more F2 (#7). I’ll do that one in a few days when I chop the Triple Sunshine x SSDD.

Thanks for checking in.

Good to hear the bbs F2 at least has some smell. Hoping it has effects you like!

Sounds very similar to the mom. SSDD #3

leafy pain in the ass for sure.

Nicely done @middleman. I feel ya on the smell thing. I’m surprised there’s so many white pistils at 73 days, is that usual? Mine have usually all turned golden and/or receded by 10 weeks  I wonder if that’s a lighting or light schedule kind of thing?

I have no idea what is “usual” for these. First SSDD for me. If you’re asking if it’s usual for my other plants to still have white pistols at 73 days, I’d say I don’t think so.

Edit: now I want to go back and look at some of my previous grows to see…
