Storing weed long-mid term,smellproof?

Hi guys,I would like to know if there Is a way to store weed for future use in a Smells prof and undetectable way even from Police dogs.
I Need to store It for my personal usage and would like to feel relaxed too.
I read about vacuum plastic bags but It Is hard because everything you touch Will leaves a scent and I actually have plants flowering at home.
I though also at smellproof container (non porous) with Active carbon outside…?Any help?

Edit-I cannot smoke all my Buds in 2 weeks and Ask for help with a smellproof storage*

Idk about it being good enough a dog wouldn’t find but look in to Grove bags work great for mid to long storage

For similar concerns in the past, I’ve utilized high barrier bags with a post clean and wipe using rubbing alcohol and detergents. Bags such as:

Those have exceedingly low vapor and gas permeability. However, with the pluses there are potential negatives for long-term storage. Use case here is primarily for the short term.

Glass jars are good as well and, perhaps, better for longer term storage at room temp. You can get large jars with seals that will not emit any scent. I use the 3 liter Le Parfait Super Jars.

Don’t want to open another thread, but have you guys any clue that I might fight spidermites with potassium soap and neem oil at early flowering spraying my older leaves that show many Signa of spidermites Attack?I Ve been battling Them 2 weeks now

I’d look it to the Grove bags they regulate humidity on there own at 62% and are heat sealable and reusable. They might not be at a dog but your house company will not smell it

Oh, before I forget, they have a stainless steel metal closure version and a non-stainless version. The stainless steel is what you’d want if you invest into something like those.

edit: after re-reading the OP, the rubber seals on those will pick up a scent from the content. It is not clear if the scent will permeate through the seal over time and whether a trained dog would be able to pick-up on it. There may need to be a longer discussion on how to do long-term storage with low gas/vapor permeability while maintaining product safety.

I’d suggest posting that question over in one of the insect / mite threads. A lot of it depends on where you are at in terms of flowering, how bad is the infestation, etc.

Mites are tough. I lost my first ever grow in week 6 flower to mites it was a heart breaker but I couldn’t smoke buds covered in webs and mites. I did a complete floor to ceiling military style cleaning and came up with a ipm plan and luckily I haven’t had an issue since.

Mylar zip bags, I also use them for coffee beans. You can fit about a 1/2lb in one and not smell it. 50Pack Mylar Bags with Oxygen Absorbers and Labers ,1 Gallon 9.4 Mil 10"x14" Stand Up Zipper Pouches Resealable Mylar Bags for Long Term Food Storage https://a.co/d/9Pnq19c

Vacuum seal bags. You’ll need two people for this.

  1. Put on gloves
  2. put weed in bags and vacuum it closed.
  3. have second person put on gloves
  4. have second person wipe the entire bag down with 91% rubbing alcohol
  5. first person takes shower and SCRUBS every inch
  6. first person puts on new gloves and sticks THAT bag into another bag and vacuum seals it
  7. second person takes a shower and SCRUBS every inch
  8. second person puts on new gloves and wipes the entire bag down with 91% rubbing alcohol

Even doing all that its not 100% but its the best way I’ve ever found.

Not that I’VE ever done anything illegal. And I’ll deny it to the day I die! :smirk:

I use the ikea version of the same thing.

Works great no smell but I doubt it would fool a police dog.

Yes, commented above. Infiltration through the rubber seal could be a problem. I do wonder if a screw on seal would be better. Or for that matter, a crimp seal (but then there is the whole safety thing again). Need to look into material permeability.

I would think, worst case scenario, I would buy a vacuum sealer. First, seal the buds in mason jars (32oz would work, 64oz might be too big). Wash mason jar down. Then put mason jar into freezer bag, vacuum and heat seal that. Wash that and I doubt many scents are escaping, ESPECIALLY not enough to alert guests to the jars in storage. Doubt a dog would find it either (if dogs are your worries, then put ground coffee in the bag / around the mason jar before you vacuum seal it)

I would use the mason jar in a bag because I hate how a vacuum sealer crushes bags. Had enough brick weed in my youth, I dont want it again!

and FWIW, I use a bunch of mason jars myself here  No bags cause I am not worried on the scent. But some buds that have been jarred 1yr are still showing 58-59% RH in the jars

And they smell AWESOME when you open the jars…
