Sugar leaves or popcorn buds, what do you do with yours?

Nice. When I saw that I first thought Sous Vide?

It is exactly a sous vide. Boiling water is 212f so I let it go for an hour.

I find this way very convenient as I don’t have to watch it and it doesn’t stink up the apartment.

If I had large amounts to process I’d do it differently but for small batches this is the best way I know.

@foreigner

I have heard this way is a superior method. I will have to give it a go. Thanks for sharing.

Let me know if you do, I’d be happy to help you with some travel tips and if you happen to be a surfer you will be in for a treat. :call_me_hand:t4:

Grind up trim, decarb it, then just put it in a cryovacced bag and put it in souse vide for about 24 hours at like 77 degrees. Strain through cheesecloth and refrigerate

Today we will be making Feco.

I was taught this method from Nancy Budwell on Facebook. She also ran the Jinxproof page in 2018/19 there as well. I have not seen her online, I hope she is doing well. If anyone on here knows her please send her my well wishes.

The method we used is very similar to Skunk Pharm’s qwet method. In our method we soak and shake for 5 mins, chill again for two hours, and, shake for another 5 min then drain. I do not soak and shake a second time, nor combine first and second soak. Any secondary soak will go into another jar.

——————-.————————.—————

To start, we will freeze 2 oz of decarbed material in the freezer along with alcohol for 24 hours. I am using a version of 151 due to the fact that high proof alcohol is harder to find in my area. Using a still we will be able to make higher proof alcohol every run.

:arrow_right: After freezing for 24 hours. Pour alcohol over cannabis, leaving room some air for mixing, cover and shake for 5 mins. I use kitchen pot holders while shaking to keep temps cold.

:arrow_right: After shaking we cover and place jars back in the freezer for 2 hours.

:arrow_right: Shake for another 5 minutes and then strain material. We use doubled up coffee filters to remove any plant material. Is this step needed? Yes. Take a look at what was removed.

:arrow_right: We then take the filtered alcohol extract and empty contents into our air still. We didn’t get those nice catching jars that I have seen others in Europe have with their purchases of air stills. So, we set up a bowl and measuring cup as our reclaim containers.

:arrow_right: Once it gets down to the amount of liquid shown, we turn off the air still and empty contents into a small jar to evaporate off the remaining alcohol. This will sit on a coffee warmer for at least 5 hours to reduce.

:arrow_right: Once most of the alcohol has reduced and the consistency is thick not runny, we use syringes to collect the oil. A little more than 10 grams of feco from 2 oz of bud. Not bad.

:arrow_right: And here we have the once 151 proof alcohol. No color and much stronger alcohol content.

Stay Irie! :sunglasses::dash::desert_island:
